Let me know what you guys think about cutting the cab corner in half. Also if you guys want to purchase some of those holographic stickers hit me up on Instagram.

What is the part number for that B pillar from key parts. And where did you purchase

I also want to know where you got them. All the B pillars online still look like the old version without the rocker panel relief. Thanks in advance.

@@Jeff-gj5vm @DFWarmory Sorry guys I haven't forgotten about you I just haven't been home in a couple days because of a snowstorm. I'm heading back there tonight and I'll send that information over. I got that panel from a parts company I believe out of northern Wisconsin at Elkhorn swap meet. I'm pretty sure I have the guy's card somewhere. I'll try to find it.

@@jt8251 the b-pillar I believe I got from TC Truck Parts in WI, (715) 321-0450 part # 0849-213 when I run this number online it comes back as the crappy panel so when you call make sure they have the high quality galvanized finish b-panel. Another Keyparts supplier is Bowtie Truck Parts out of MN, it's a Ma and Pop shop (they are awesome, they shipped me freight a ton of C-10 panels) you can try them also. Kevin's cell (612) 242-9925 The high quality Outer rocker part # is 0849-101AL and the outer rocker states "improve quality" on the sticker.

I'm in the plenty of time, but no money category...I'm currently at a standstill waiting on saving enough money to get a decent sized bottle of shielding gas...7 years into my build & I'm still not even at the halfway point...it just don't pay to be broke...

That's how it's been going...slowly chipping away at it...if I'd known what a ripoff those little overpriced bottles of C25 Argon from Tractor Supply were, I'd never have wasted the money...but at least I got my welder up & running after owning it for 8 years & never hooking it up until now...but my build wasn't far enough along to worry about it...but I knew it would take a while...living on disability doesn't get anything done fast except running out of money...

When I redid my vent boxes I made the outer most panel removable with nut certs. I also made the lower section V differently so I could incorporate a drain using a fitting to a tube that goes out the fender at the bottom. The issue I have found with those cab vents is that once water gets in there it has no where to go. Once all the metalwork was complete I coated that entire area with bedliner so there was no chance of rust forming.
@BustedClassicGarage
@BustedClassicGarage 2 жыл бұрын
Nice! I have some ideas to close off the vents, install speakers in those spots and close off the cowl holes in the outer cowl. Hoping that will keep most of the water out. Planning on vintage air inside the cab.
@jodydewey3516
@jodydewey3516 2 жыл бұрын
@@BustedClassicGarage you will need a strategy for water runoff. Maybe close it off just above the vent box and incorporate a large drain in each side.

Thank you for the videos, as a beginner who's clearly in over my head, these are very helpful. Do you have a video where you replace the rear cab support brace? My son's '69 C10 is more or less completely gone in that area and the only diagrams I've been able to find aren't very clear as to how they all connect - lower door pillar, cab support, cab corner, floor pan, etc. Any thoughts, from anyone, would be much appreciated. The diagrams show bolts holding things together, however the replacement panels I have don't all have bolt holes. Some do, some don't.

Yea most of the panels on the market are pretty poor quality for these trucks. From the factory the floor was bolted and pinch welded. There are some high quality panels in the works, that I will fitting soon. Keep an eye out for those videos. Can't really say too much more but they will be game changing. If you go to my most recent videos you will get an idea of a regular vs high quality b pillar. As far as the back support and cab corner I cover alot of the repairs in this video. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qnqxhXmDiq18epo

@jimmygonzales5756 keyparts high quality is the way to go! They are exact stampings. Keyparts makes a high-quality floor patch that has the lip that meets the firewall. They make a a-pillar piece that doesn't need to be surgically chopped up to make it fit also. Lol check out the link it's to the a pillar video. There are links in the description to the parts. Also you can try Bow Tie Truck Stop out of Minnesota. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nnfZoKiYhbOVpKM
