1971 Kirby Classic 1-CR

Another Kirby vacuum I wanted to show you guys a while back. I bought this one at a local Kirby store in Plano 6 years ago before they closed permanently after at least 50 years. ( I really miss that shop!) I paid about $25 which is a good price for an older vacuum. I replaced the original 2 row brushroll with a 4 row brushroll. It originally had a metal fan but I replaced it with a plastic kevlar fan and later switched back to metal. A few years ago I modified it by using HEPA bags. Other than that nothing else but a very good machine. Enjoy.

That's a beautiful 1cr there. That was an interesting transition year for Kirby (meaning some of the parts can interchange with the D80 and older models) in the design before the Omega came out.
