1972 496 Nova racing in Rocky Mountain Race Week 2024 Big Block NA Day 1 - day 3 action & adventure

I had planned to race with nitrous and try to make a run at the quick 32 again but the co-pilot thought we might do better in BB NA. He looked like a genius after 2 days.

I have raced at Yellow Belly once years ago and at the Motorplex a bunch back in the 90s. There is a dip at YB about 2nd gear area that was bad enough to unload the slicks in my 70TA to where I was staring at the concrete wall going sideways. That was the lat time I ever raced there! Ennis is a great track and my favorite place to race. If you can make anything drive down in this heat and run 10s your doing good NA! Maybe will see you on another upcoming RMSW if I can ever get my 65 GTO back together sigh.

Hey Bob, I have 496 Camaro I'm putting together... Currently have 373 gear what's 255.95 15 drag radials..... I'm wondering if you think my gearing is going to be close..... And what do you think is a good shot of nitrous....right now I have 625 HP @ 5600 &. 635 ft lbs @ 4400.... I have 10.5 x 1 compression...with Dart Dominator & 950 HP Ultra..... Just curious what you thought would be a good amount of Nos 🤔🤔

@tedschanhals8117 what size tire? 255x60 or 295x60 or something else? As far as nitrous 100 shot is a safe start in most cases. Consider your local track and their tolerance of possibly exceeding your tech. Some nhra tracks will get on ya for 6 pt bar and belts, etc.

@805hondajdm I run a turbo 400 and 9 inch with 3.50 gears. I used to run a 3.25 gear. The tires are 255x60x15 so not really tall at 17-18 psi.
