Love it! I have a 1969 Giulia Super almost completely restored...and I just bought a 1969 Spyder boat tail for $1.00. Needs about $5,000 but I can't wait to start work on it.

So long ago, my first Alfa Romeo was a 67 Guilia Super 1600, then a 69 Spyder, 71 Berlina 1750 & 72 Berlina 2000. So long ago.

Bring a trailer.com had 67 giulia super 1600. restored $33k.. looked great.

I'd like to enquire about the cost of such a project? I've a 1967 Alfa Berlina 1750 in white purchased through E-bay for approx $5,200. I think I paid a bit over the top? It's solid enough, it'll prob need a new door skin and the sills repaired/replaced. For a full mech'l rebuild and bare metal re-spray, I've been quoted $22,000. This is from a very reputable restoration specialist in the U.K.known as 'Alfaholics'.In your opinion is it worth the expense?

@alfakenpo Hi, The original limiting strips were to short with performance springs, they allowed to much suspension travel. As for the new straps, I can't tell you a thing, as the guys helping me put the car back together, had them made. I offer to out and measure them for, but alas, I sold the car a month ago.
@modelleg10 жыл бұрын
nice job...enjoy.
@alfakenpo12 жыл бұрын
Nice video and documenting can you share details about the limiting strap. I have IAP red springs and Koni Yellows on a GTV 74 Bertone . Are the original straps not effective? I would appreciate any details you can share on the benefits and installation location and the part number for the straps. Thanks

Thanks for the comment. And yes it is SoCal, on the coast about half way between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara. The pictures at the end of the video were taken at a winery northeast of LA near Lancaster.

Super example. Top notch restoration and must be lots of fun chucking around the track. Whereabout in Cali are you from? Lived in Palo Alto for several years, though scenery looks more like SoCal. Alifisti Saluti from France

beautiful job, but because instead of the white, you have not used the ROSSO ALFA,(in ITALY it is the color of the sporting autos the red, and to her time they made the ROSSO ALFA)she would have given the correct sporting touch to the car. However good job, and I am happy that also in USA there are people that love the True cars. P.S. - my father to always driven ALFA, up to when the Fiat has not removed from the cars the back traction, an unique value of the autos built to ARESE.

I got a real good deal on the body work, considering what they ended up doing with my parts car, less than $4000US (but it wasn't a "show" quality job). The complete interior (not original) was about $4500US. And misc stuff totaled about $3000US. All told, I was into the project about $25,000US, which includes the purchase of the car itself. I'm familiar with the work from Alfaholics, and the estimate they gave you seems vary reasonable. But make sure you ask them how long it will take.

Bellissima restorazione ma non capisco perche non l' hai verniciata di colore rosso invece di un patetico bianco
@72ARSuper11 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comments. As for the color, I redid the car in the original white. Sadly, though, I no longer own the car, I sold it almost two years ago, and I've regretted it ever since, it was fun to drive through the canyons in Southern California.
@72ARSuper15 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comments. This particular car was brought over from Italy in 1999 by a previous owner. I'm not sure how many Giulia Sedans are in the US, but it's not to many. I see more of them on the track than I do on the street. I believe they were only imported for sale from 1964 to 1967. They were much more popular in your part of the world.

Thanks very much for your advice and as you've almost condoned 'Alfaholics', I think I'll go the whole hog and get a gleaming restoration job done? As I don't think it'll last too many more winters on my drive, before I'll be sweeping it up LOL
@72ARSuper12 жыл бұрын
@666RiffsOfDeth666 Haven't replaced it yet, might try something other than an Alfa. The music in the video are two tracks from the Sean Connery movie "Medicine Man".

Congratulations. This is a beautiful Alfa Romeo. Amazing soundtrack in the video. Can you share the title with us? I must admitt that i felt sorry about the red Giulia, and the process of combining 2 cars to get 1 made me sceptical. But the final results looks very nice indeed. It was very good to save such a car, and to see that people still appreciate it, admire it, love it. Greetings from Greece. P.S: This was one the best restorarion videos I have seen in KZbin. Again congratulations.

Nice video. It woud be great to see and hear the car in action. I love this car. I had a '72 Giulia 1300 when I was in the US Navy stationed in Sardinia back in the early 80's. Mine was in the shop about once a month it seemed, but I loved it. Great fun on those Sardinian roads.

@madk4speed Thanks for the comment. I gave credit for the music on the last of the video, but it does go by kinda fast. It happens to portions of two tracks from the soundtrack from the movie "Medicine Man" with Sean Connery.

Beautiful car. Glad that the car was restored. I like the front of these cars. They look very sporty and elegant at the same time and I especially like the 'boxiness' of the car like the BMW 2002. Best regards.

@crimdell Thanks, it was my first video. As for seeing the car in action and hearing it, I don't own a video camera, and it would be rather hard for me to take a video of me driving the car, but I'll work on that.

@Gluvich Thanks for your comment. Not including the cost of the first car, I'm into the restoration for about $12000, or about 9229EUR.

@TheTagzen Thanks for the comments. The engine mods were done by a previous owner - 2-litre replaced the 1.6, it's about half way between stock and full-race, but vary well behaved. I added the oil cooler, magnaflow exhaust, relocated the battery to the trunk, and several other things.
