1972 Chevy truck with 250 straight six drive around and acceleration

10 years ago you posted this. But it is still a great resource. I've been trying to decide if I should put a 250 into my 64, but wanted to see some freeway drives. Thanks for the post!!

Rog H. That 250 with a Holly 4 barrel carb and a 3 speed has fair acceleration. It's not going to throw you back in your seat, but it's not a dog either. It still has a good towing capacity.

This one does. If you look at the video response, it will have a video clip of the engine. He modified it with a Holley 4 brrl carb and he cammed it. The stock engine with a single brrl put out 145 hp. I'd say this one goes up to the 170s or higher.

It's got more power now, it jumped from 145 hp to around 170-180 hp.

Ohio, the colors are inverted from Idaho. The plates in this video are the older Ohio licence plates considering this video is over a decade old. They have since changed to a white plate with red border.
