Yep, that’s a replacement speedo. Ron got the original speedo that needs to be repaired. There’s a caption at 1:37

The deteriorated parts should be replaced with new old stock then it should be cleaned polished and preserved in a museum to be admired by as many people possible. I’ve never seen a bike of this year that can time travel and become 93 years old. It’s like a Mandela effect.

Not original and definitely not 93 years old! The rear luggage rack is not made by Harley Davidson. It's called the Trunk Kady made by Calafia Industries out of Los Angeles, made for Hondas, Harley or whatever you wanted to mount it on. Still a great bike!

Cool, thanks for the info Westcoast Johnny. Ron was actually referring to the previous owner as being 93 years old, not the bike ;) The poor guy has recently passed since filming this movie, so Ron is honored to preserve this bike in memory of his friend. Cheers, Mike

Until just a few years ago I had an exact twin to this bike... Yes the trunk was an add on avaliable at Harley Davidson dealers...& much of the chrome... The thing is...It's all period correct & was more than likely dealership installed.. The candy paint is also factory original that can't be faked. Lacquers now aren't the same as then...

Another thing nothing has been taken off of the bike to make modifications. So in that respect the modifications only enhanced rater than detract from value. Also that trunk is only mounted with a spring loaded clip on clip off system. That attaches to the luggage rack. If it has the same as mine did.

To keep this bike correct do not put a faring on it.. Put a police windshield on it. The faring didn't become an option until a year later and wouldn't do this bike justice...

@@american23t I think you'll find that the batwing fairing was an option available from Harley since 1969 .1973 was not the first year of the batwing fairing .
