Hey there brother. Nice video. I was at a swap meet one day and was checking out some guns and had my guitar in the truck. I had a 1974 FG 180 Yamaha and when I came back and got in my truck it has been stolen. My window was down about an inch or two and somebody stuck something in there and pop the lock. It burdens me to see one of these old Yamahas. I grew up in the mountains of southern West Virginia and my grandpa was an old Scottish Cherokee deputy sheriff that rode a horse instead having a cop car from the 60s to the 80s . I got the guitar when I was six years old, my father showed me how to play Wildwood flower as my first song and I've been playing now for 34 years. The guitar got stolen in 2012. My Grandpa bought it brand new with his first paycheck as a deputy. He passed it down to my dad after he lost a finger. My dad gave it to me in 1986 because he had diabetes and couldn't play it anymore because it hurt his fingers. One of my heart's greatest desires is to obtain another Yamaha FG 180. It had been played so much that the Fret bars were worn down and the strings had started to vibrate a little bit. The wood on the neck between the frets was wallowed out because it had been played for so many years and so many hours. There's so much sentimental value in that guitar to me that it could never be regained. Thank you for your videos I really appreciate you taking your time to make these. God bless

Outstanding. I just bought one in rather used condition at a 2nd hand store for $60 in Cambodia. Haven't got it set up yet so I can't review it but even if I keep it for slide only well worth the money.

Loved the video. I just bought a 73 FG200 buff label for $24 in mint condition. Awesome guitars, and better than my Martin D16M.

Nice playing, one of the best sounding Yamahas I've heard. Definitely comparable to a D18. I'm looking for an FG110 with maple back and sides.

Sounds beautiful!!! My hubby bought me one from a friend back in the day and I was wondering what to do with it as I never played it much at all...it has no strings on it and it has just been sitting in it's case all these years (poor thing) but I thought I had better check it out to see what I had before giving it away (how I found this video)....guess I won't be just giving it away now. :) Thanks for sharing your amazing talent!

This is wonderfully inspiring. What tuning are you using, and what type of strings are installed on your guitar? Thank you.

Thinking of getting one FG180 red label. I played it today was in love. Since it is a big guitar that's what's holding back $375.00 but i love the sound. Or and Alvarez. Any advice.

I think $375 is a good price. You can’t buy love but you can buy a guitar that you love!
