Very good video. That pull up issue was a killer right ? Don't you hate when a PU goes to many locations? Great job isolating that and all the other issues !! So many bad IC's, you wonder if the board was subjected to an over voltage condition at one point in time.

It still has a problem. When the ball hits an upper/lower wall, it make a dot on the opposite wall. Don't know what the problem is but that isn't correct. Actually, I think the walls are missing; isn't there suppose to be horizontal lines for the upper and lower boundaries? Images on-line don't show walls, so either a problem with the PCB, or the monitor is suppose to be adjusted to hide that ghost ball?

that is actually normal.. there are known issues with these pcbs.. the offset center line, the ball "wraparound" are just a couple... I imagine all that bodging was to improve it... but like I said... Its not that big of a deal to begin with.

Hey! My classmates and I have recreated this PCB for a project for school. What do you know about the video out? How specific is it? We've tried hooking it up to composite to my 1992 RCA CRT but the video does not show -- sound works, though. After probing the ICs that we used I'm under the assumption now that the board is working but it just can't communicate with my television over composite. Any ideas?

Those hacks are probably a mod done back in the day to improve the game a little and juice all the money it possibly can out of it. Did you by change document those mods?

​@@classicarcaderepairs4818 All good. I have a "TV Ping Pong" which is an exact clone of Pong, so I've been thinking of ways to improve it and make it play faster and more crazy, haha. "Superpong" is kind of unique, but if I can make the ball at least double in speed, I think I'll be happy.

Sean...what exactly was the 107 doing that it was causing the other chip to float?

it was partially internally shorted to ground... pulling that p-pull up line down with it

Gotcha. 1 I actually fix the 467, 470 and 480 b&K rejuvenators. There are two logic chips on there a 7400, and a 7473. It's funny you said that because when I pulled out the 7473 the ground and 5 volts were shorted together. Took out some transistors and a resistor
