As the owner/financier, for the past five years, of this 1973 Dodge Charger.m I find it still draws a crowd at car shows and is a pleasure to drive. Regarding the question about the rims. They were custom made for this car. In response to "What have you done to the car" Since this video I have upgraded the front brakes from factory disks to Wedwood disks. In response to the statement "this car's color looks like General Lee". I would like to point-out the paint is a BASF modern orange with pearl flakes and two coats of clear. Secondly this car has always been a California car; which is a very, very long way from General Lee territory. I envision it more of a SOCAL Beach Boy car. Except for yearly oil changes, cleaning the carburetor air filters and rerouting the spark plug wires, this car has given me no problem. Regarding distributor walking problem. I have a total MSD ignition system installed maybe that's why I have not experienced the car's MSD distributor walking. After I lowered the front end I realized I was in deep-shit with my 7 quart Milodon oil pan sitting so close to the road. That's why I installed the skid plate, and boy has it save my car on a number of occasions (California is not known for its smooth flat roads). In the future I am looking into removing the original K frame and installing a coil over front end to get rid of bump steering and improve road handling. As to what it cost me for this retro-mod that is number one question I get asked. I respond those that ask me "what did it cost you" "A Gentleman never talks about his wife, his mistress, and how much it cost for his car". When pressed on the subject I tell them lots of $$$$$$. But it was well worth it.

I had a '73 for my last two years of high school ('81 and '82). Sold it to a coworker a few years later and his son smacked into a light pole. I wish I had it again today, but in the original condition of course!

I had this same exact car back in 1984-86. Looked exactly the same except it had a black stripe in the back. I made the mistake of putting a 4:56 gear in it and other things that made it not affordable for me @ the time (young and little $) I mowed lawns for 2 summers and saved $3K cash to buy it on my 16th birthday! Wish I still had it :(

Yes it is. However through the science of engineering it has been Magnumized to 500 cubic inches or 8 liters (one liter per cylinder). And yes it does put out power about 450 HP. The only down size is it gets about 10 miles per gallon in cruise, and a whole lot less where you put the pedal to the metal

I see you put a skid plate for that oil pan. Those Milodons sit to deep for those intersections. Trust me I know:(
