Trained by the great Noel Murless a very good horse. There were so many of them in that period from 1967 to the mid 1970s. The good old days of when racing had household names of jockeys like Durr, Seagrave, Hide, Taylor, Gordon, Barclay and more.

I think Mysterious was an unbeaten filly up to this point. She had followed up a win in the English 1000 guineas with victory here in the Epsom Oaks. She was a very good filly up to this point, but perhaps not quite as good in subsequent races. In fact, if I'm not mistaken, in her next outing did she not come unstuck against French superstar filly Dahlia in the Irish Oaks ? (Dahlia of course then proceeded to win 2 King George's at Ascot before finishing 3rd in the brilliant 1975 King George behind Grundy & Bustino)
