I can tell you that bike I got from them. It was one of the best running 250s I ever got a hold of and I wrote a lot of them back then I wished I could’ve raced. I could’ve got underneath with them. Would’ve been cool as hell.

Here in the Philippines I still have my restored 1974 Mk8 Pursang which I used to race in Hong Kong in the late 70's. It was (and still is) a great bike. A US magazine of the day said, 'If you can't win on this, you can't win on anything". I was (and am) 3rd owner. I still know the guy who bought it new in Hong Kong. Brakes were adequate (on dirt) as I recall.

I had one of Jim and Evel Knievel training bikes I traded them or I traded evil for it. He had it at his place up in Yakima. He worked for Jim Pomeroy‘s dad senior Pomeroy. I was a lot younger than him. I was like 14 at that time, a friend of mine that I went to school with ended up riding with them, his name was Scott. Fuel all of them are dead now I’m 69 years old at this time right now it’s October 17, 2024 time flew. Those were the good old days back then I think I know where that bike is setting in pieces.

Seems really surprising to me . Back during those great days of yesteryear, The only 250 that could match my buddys 73 Pursang in speed was a 250 Elsinore , And we had literally every production 250 running around here in those days, before the Elsinore in 73 , I believe the Pursang to be the fastest 250. Something wrong with this picture.

Bulshit magazine was probably paid off by another manufacturer but I do agree about the brakes

The brakes on my Model 135 250 pursang had great breaks back in the day when I was racing......decades later when I acquired a model 120 and model 135 for vintage racing I was surprised by the lack of braking power. Never realized back when I was a kid the drums had no steel liner. Made me wonder if I may have remembered incorrectly or if I just got lucky with my model 135 back in 75 with it having good stopping power. If it did lack stopping power maybe that's why my cornering speed was much improved over my 74 YZ125 I was racing prior🤔

When setting up the bikes I vintaged race I realized getting a good set of hubs, especially the front , with the plating intact and not flaking off was the first step then after market shoes arced to the hubs helped immensely

The author is a schmuck if he can't get Pomeroys' name right, or maybe he WAS talking about Ron Pomeroy, whoever that is. It does sound like someone that was paid in one way or another by another brand. It also sounds like someone that weighed about 350 lbs shoved their foot real hard against the side of the frame, read jumped up and down on the side of the bike, at the foot peg mount and bent the frame, before they rode it. The author doesn't know the difference between a production replica, and the factory works bike. NO ONE ever sells a real works bike down the production line. It was 1974, remember! Also an AWSOME rider makes a big difference!
