This truck is incredibly rare. It looks like the kind of truck that should be restored and entered in ATHS shows.

Not rare at all but ok Seen many c90s with Detroits in many configurations
@jsd7953 жыл бұрын
Rare because not many still exist but were a dime a dozen back in the day. Kind of like an old Transtar, I used to never pay any attention to em but now I get more excited to see one than I do with most Petes and KWs.

@@jsd795 Even at the time, there were more GMCs of the same variety than Chevys.

@@DTD110865 while true it is some pretty serious hair splitting making a distinction between Chevy and GMC. Personally I make none as there is little to no difference other than the emblem on the grill

@@DTD110865 Especially when the '70s turned into the '80s...the GMC Brigadier was more widely available since the Chevy Bruin was only produced through 1980.

There was a company in Australia called Bellway that had a 924 KW with 8V71 and 4x4 Spicer that hauled a Michigan 475 on a quad float with dolly, all up just over 215000 pounds all by itself no other trucks and traveled 1100 miles in 3 1/2 days.

Just keep an eye on the oil level. When a Detroit quits leaking oil, it's too late. It's out

Short hood, so this one's a JH90 (J=tandem axle; H=8V71 engine).

No, actually, the heavy-duty H/J series continued with this cab design (first introduced in 1966) into 1978-88 with the Chevy Bruin (through 1980) and the GMC Brigadier. But... 1973-77 models had a golden bowtie (missing from the hood on this one) instead of blue, as did the 1978-80 Bruins.
