Came across this video, I have 2 1972 cudas, been sitting for many many years, 1 for parts with everything needed for replacement of exterior trim. Kick ass looking cars, hopefully I get time someday.

Enjoy all your videos but really appreciate the "step by step" ones. Always best to learn the "right way" (from a real craftsman, of course) the first time out instead of learning wrong and trying to change down the road. Worked in the trades my whole life and it's always amazing how someone who has learned how to "hack" everything refuses to change when someone tries to show them the "correct" way to do something. They always have tons of reasons why the 'correct" way is silly, un-necessary, too much work, etc. ;o( My Dad was a old school carpenter. Made full on furniture in Junior High School Wood Shop. I've seen pictures of that class at the end of the school year with all their projects. He lived and taught us one basic edict: "Do it right, or don't do it at all". I practice that to this day as does my son.

I had a guy repair the rust-eaten parts on my rear quarters. Ended up looking like Frankenstein car with stitches everywhere. Now, I'm looking for full quarters to swap out the mess because I bet there's cancer up underneath the fenders after watching all your videos. You guys do real work. Love watching these videos. Keep it rocking!!

Seems to be like my '74 'Cuda 360 4bbl bought brand new in New London CT. There was at least another one in my town exactly same color as this as well - same stripe too. One guy had the '74 Barracuda same color 318 w/ no stripe. I wonder if there is a database of original owners because I'd like to find my old 'Cuda to see if it lived or not after me...I don't have the VIN anymore and the dealer is out of biz. 🚗

Good tutorial! Used your method on my barracuda. Had some trouble with the welder but got it sorted out. Cant wait to get back on it,maybe paint will fly. Wish spring would hurry up! Looking forward to the next video. Been reading about guys with their cars in “paint prison” where some body shops just take money and dont do fuck all until customer flips out. You, my friend are on the opposite end of the spectrum. Getting it done!!

wow, nice work on the Cuda, BUT, DAM that car needs new leaf springs BAD, that is a perfect example of why you NEVER put extended shackles on a Chrysler product, or hell any leaf spring car. That bent spring will snap, only matter of time

The wax stuff looks interesting. So does seam sealer go between the inner and outer fender halves?
@OldTimeGarage
@OldTimeGarage 4 жыл бұрын
They are plugged welded together . Then if you like you can run some sealer along the seam were they are joined .Am taking it that you are talking about were the quarter joins the out wheel tub?
