1975 Orange Bowl

This is the 1/1/1975 Notre Dame vs Alabama game. It is a black and white film with radio audio. Jay Randolph calls the game. It was legendary coach Ara Parseghian's last game as Irish head coach. For the second year in a row he faced Alabama in his Bowl and for the second year in a row he would cost the Tide a National Championship. This film cuts off with about a minute 30 to play. I claim no rights.

I remember watching this game. A fitting way for Ara to go out. This sounds like a radio broadcast. If I didn't know better, I'd say that's Paul McGuire doing color commentary. Jim Simpson and John Brodie called it for NBC TV. An interesting tidbit, Eric Penick missed the first eight games of the season due to torn ankle ligaments. Why he chose to play late in the season instead of sitting it out is an unanswered question.
