After the hook and lateral my cousin (a huge Husker fan) threw a chair and put a hole in the wall. My uncle (also a huge Husker fan) bout a frame and kept it unpatched until they sold the house several years later. They lived in Bellevue’s Neb. The people who bought the house asked what happened and the story was one reason they bought the house.

I was at the game. A cold north wind in ty n end zone. I didn't no what happened when ok did the hook and lateral at the end of the game. No replays back then. What a heartbreak. That started sooner magic unfortunately 😢

Sooners though came back in lVth Quarter w/pair, TDs, their own/they'd hold on for 20-17 victory. Norman, Okla.-based institution would get berth in VIth Fiesta Bowl classic on Christmas Day 🎄 (December 25), 1976 where they'd whip Univ., Wyo., 41-7. Meanwhile, Univ., Neb. would cap off reg. season play w/walloping 68-3 road triumph over Univ., HI. just 8 days later. Then just 4 wks. later Univ., Neb. would erase pair, 10-pt. deficits against Tex. Tech in XVIIIth Astro-Bluebonnet Bowl classic on New Yr.'s Eve night, 1976 to record 27-24 c'mbck win

And speaking, that XVIIIth Astro-Bluebonnet Bowl classic from 1976 College Football season, I.Y.O., why was Univ., Neb. game's designated home squad as they wore their Scarlet Red top jerseys w/their Tex. Tech counterparts wearing their White top jerseys?

Never understood why Switzer only put Blevins in the game when he was out of options. Dean proved time and again he could run the offense, directed some of the greatest comebacks of that Era. What was the problem with the coach?

Fortunately, Switzer has a much better eye for it than you do. This game reminds me of how tough and hard-nosed that Husker defense was. That Sooner offense rose to the challenge in the 4th qtr, but that defense didn't make any QB look good as I recall.😎
