Cold Start of a recent purchase, a 1976 Goldwing GL1000 Limited Edition Bicentennial. Only 2000 made for the 200th Anniversary of the United States. It's been said that Honda make these in honoring of the U.S.A. turning 200 and gave one to every main Honda Dealer.

By the way I graduated in 76 and have ridden nothing but Honda's, including a 1978 Goldwing I rode for sixteen years. I am now 62 riding a 2000 Honda Valkyrie Interstate with 70,000 miles on it.

Those are not aftermarket pipes it is from goldwing 1000 K3 version and I need those badly to my goldwing from 1978, beautiful bike. LTD is really rare and very expensive in pristine condition.

Nice bike! I have 2 naked old wings. A 1976 I purchased new and a 1981. Not to be picky but I noticed a few things. You are missing (1) the reflectors on each side of the headlight bucket (2) The four black caps that cover the handle riser screws (3) the rubber cover on the right side of the swingarm (4) you have only part of the aftermarket cruise control on the throttle grip (5) You need to replace the neutral safety switch to eliminate the neutral warning light, Otherwise you have a stunning example of a very rare and desirable Goldwing.

I had a 76’ in 77’. Excellent bike had a similar fairing backrack and removable suitcase bags. I installed electronic ignition and got away from the dual points. The early bikes were mom & pop bikes

I own a 1976 winger, needed timing belt when I bought it. I changed both timing belts and discovered that the starter needed to be taken care of, you know, taken off, apart, cleaned out. I pull started it with a vehicle and it fired right up. I kill the motor cause I'm getting oil all over my boots, haven't put the belt covers back on, and I put it back together and it just won't start. I will keep trying to get it figured out because I really do like the style of this bike. It's has lots of potential and "grrr" written all over it. A BEAST!!!

@Jyme Bale This guy’s ‘76 Centennial LTD has fairing and bags. He showed them late in the video. They’d been removed from the bike as he wanted it back to stock condition/appearance. With the exception of the ‘79 GL1100, all 70’s GoldWings came undressed/naked from Honda. No fairings or bags. In ‘79 Honda produced SOME GL1100’s with saddlebags and trunks but no fairings yet. Dealers or purchasers could add aftermarket fairing and/or bags if they wanted to spend the extra bucks to dress ‘em up. So your ‘76 GL1000 GoldWing’s dress parts weren’t Honda but were added later as aftermarket parts.

Take that other key off or you're going to scratch your tank etc, and not advisable to put fairing and chrome on concrete. Just makes me cringe as like to keep things like new especially on a lovely old bike like that.
