Thanks for your videos! I have taken the Odyssey that my parents bought brand new (1979) and had been parked without running in a barn for +25 years and your video helped me get spark to it last weekend. Keep making you videos. You do quality videos and your service is appreciated. Yesterday i was able to hook up an auxiliary fuel tank and take it for a spin for the first time in 1/4 century! Pure nostalgia! My teenage boys found out how fun Odyssey's are when they took it for a spin. A lot more work to go but now I know it is a machine that can be saved. Big shout out to OddAtv for their service for parts too.

Both wires are positive. Black is positive ignition power and yellow is power for the light. The green wire from the on/off switch grounds to the frame while the motor grounds to the motor mount (frame). Overall a very informative video. I never thought to remove the cam to set the points

We're doing our best to explain sometimes complex mechanics to the regular everyday Joe.. That's why Odyssey Life was created😁.. I can't take any credit for the knowledge shared in this video.. All credit is to my mentor, Joe, from oddatv.com! I understand what you say in regard to the wires being positive. With the engine removed from the machine and with no "ground strap" to act as a ground, we feel we explained that segment properly as it was taken straight from the Honda Service manual... Thank you for supporting, watching, and commenting! You rock!💥💨✌️🤟😎

Welp just found my weak spark issue. My points engine has a cdi flywheel in it. So I guess the guy did rebuild the engine as he claimed, just not properly.

@OdysseyLife1 I already saw it! 😅 That's actually how I realized it. I was rewatching this to see if there was something else I could have screwed up when I replaced the points. I'm pretty sure the flywheel is the issue. I bought 2 FL250's, one was "rebuilt" and the other has a snowmobile swap. So I think the guy combined the 250 engines and probably never had it running. The carb slide was in backwards (guy said throttle was stuck open was why it got parked) the cable was shot though. But long story short thankfully there is a points flywheel in the foot well of the one with the snowmobile engine. So that can be my project when it warms up in the morning. Thanks Berny!

@@OdysseyLife1 already there brother! 🤘 I'm pretty bad at taking pictures I wish I would have taken before pictures. She was quite a sight with multiple layers of peeling paint and all different colors, even on the roll bar.
