For sale in our St. Louis Showroom is a true survivor, a numbers matching 1977 Chevrolet Impala 4-door sedan with just 28,369 miles on the odometer. To meet changing demands the Chevrolet Impala received a complete redesign in 1977 for its sixth generation debut. The new "smaller" Impalas, although taller, were more narrow and shorter in length. The new shortened frame (shorter than the one introduced in 1971) would be used until 1996. With its increased height, the headroom grew, and despite the smaller exterior dimensions the rear-seat leg-room and trunk space were able to be increased. With the strong redesign, production ramped up, the 1977 Impala regained the number one US sales position, and took home Motor Trend's car of the year. Options on this Impala include: Air Conditioning, AM Radio, Power Brakes, Power Steering, Vinyl Interior, Radial White Wall Tires, Hub Caps, Seat Belts, Anti-Theft System, and Air Adjustable Shocks in the rear. Engine options were reduced in 1977, this particular Impala was born with and still sports the original 305-cubic-inch (5.0 L) V8 engine, as well as the original 3 speed automatic transmission.
The nearly 40 year old light brown interior in this Impala is in great condition. Peek in the windows and you will see zero rips, tears, or cracks in the front and rear bench seats, the dash is in the same great condition. The metallic finish still shows a lot of sparkle and shine, especially given its age. The air adjustable rear shocks are a wonderful addition to this 1977 Impala and improve the ride quality greatly. This is a great example of a survivor cruiser, or very easily could be made into an elite show car depending on your preferences. To view this Impala in greater detail, including 50+ HD pictures and an HD video of it running and driving visit www.GatewayClassicCars.com or our St. Louis showroom. Please call 618-271-3000 with any questions any questions.

The front clip looks to have been replaced. The bumper is from a Caprice and the hood is from a '78 impala. The '77 did not have a bowtie on the hood.

This car has a 1979 front bumper on it, 77/78 Impala's did not have signal/parking lights in the bumper. Also header emblem is for a 1978 Impala. This car looks to have been painted at one point, also missing Impala emblems on both sides behind the rear doors.

I noticed all those things. My first car was a 1977 Impala that looked like this one, but it was light blue and had a 350 V8. Ran it over 170,000 miles before it fell apart by the mid 1990s.

Wait, do those have power locks? Or how do you unlock it from inside? Pulling the lock up?
@mikeshumaker
@mikeshumaker 7 жыл бұрын
Power locks were optional. As was rear window defroster. Coincidentally, the 77 I had had both. Yes, you pull up the lock from the inside or unlock it with the key from the outside.

you must be young. Yes these had manual locks, windows, steering, no tilt, no AC, no clock, no cruise, vinyl, and non white walls as standard equipment.

This vehicle, painted in light brown, appears at the beginning of the 1977 film 'The Gauntlet' starring Clint Eastwood. He is last seen driving off in after being told by his boss: 'You represent the Phoenix P.D. Get a shave.'
