Dave Moore , no, I don’t have them. Go to www.cbodies.com, talk to Murray, I buy lots of things for my Chrysler’s. If he doesn’t have it, you are going to have to go to Hershey.

100% my experience! I’m out of Boston and I’ve had to travel hundreds of miles for parts. I’ve got a '75 400 block that needs new quarters. Replacements are five grand. I thought it was a good idea, lol!

I was very interested in getting a '77 Cordoba until I read your very informative piece, "The Most Difficult Classic To Restore: Chrysler Cordoba. Thank you very much for that. It really opened my eyes on what to expect as I was very close to pulling the trigger on one. Not so sure after reading what your experience was with one.

There are forums for these cars...Plus these are B bodies,same suspension as 1973 Dodge Charger,Plymouth Road Runner etc...(71-72 very similar)...Only hard parts for these cars are body&interior parts,but clubs and forums help..Any mechanical/electrical part can be bought new today... FYI: for the interior lights,the lense covers,Chrysler used the same on minivans,Daytona,LeBaron etc cars until the mid 1990's..So if anyone is missing those,look for those in the junk yard,for parts or on line..

There are more than a few Cordoba groups on Facebook. I'm on three of them myself, being an admin on the biggest one. These are very nice driving cars and are liked by many. Many of the members have extra parts or have access to junkyards who still stock these. You really seem to bad mouth these before doing any real research on these cars. I have two Cordobas and have zero issues locating anything I need for them.

Thanks John, 8 years ago when I was looking for parts I sure had a hard time. Maybe I didn't know where to look, or maybe it is better now. It took me dozens of calls and 6 months to find a windshield!
@johnharr97073 жыл бұрын
Mine was this same color!! With black vinyl roof.loved it, back in 1978. But you're right, Chrysler gave up making body parts for this car. You have to buy same year Charger parts, if you can find them. Where the springs attach in the rear, the rear of the spring rusts out and spring goes up through the trunk.
@01trsmar3 жыл бұрын
No company makes body parts for old cars...You still can find any mechanical parts..any parts store has them!
@kennethsouthard60423 жыл бұрын
@@01trsmar There are several companies that make reproduction sheet metal body parts and patch panels for old cars. I'm not sure if they make parts for these though. I'm guessing probably not.

This car will just be an endless money pit for whomever buys as it will be worth far less than what it will cost to restore it. I guess you got a little lesson in that yourself. The big problem is that in addition to the quarters, the roof is toast. I can tell that it is really bad under that vinyl top as well as those holes under the back window. The quarters can be patched, but that roof is what will put this car into the junkyard. At least it's in good enough shape that there should be a lot of parts that will be able to be salvaged for other cars. The Chrysler Lean Burn was more of an early electronic engine control, not an electronic ignition, as all Chryslers had electronic ignition standard by 74 and most had it by 72.

One thing that i've really learned is that you need to have the time to oversee these jobs - and I didn't. To properly assess them before starting, and to manage the work. I through away tens of thousands of dollars on a few projects because I didn't have the time to manage them properly.

Compared with other Mopars. Chargers, Barracudas, Roadrunners, Darts, Challengers have a way larger following and bringing way higher prices. That's why you don't find Cordobas at car shows. No one wants to put 25 grand into one only to get 9 grand for all the work they put in on a good day. They have zero collectors value even though they are extremely rare.
@benkleschinsky3 жыл бұрын
Get a load of this. I tried to buy two quarter panels today to fix the rust on mine. The owner wanted $5000 for two quarters, more than a car. The Mopar collectors have ruined the hobby. Ford and GM cars are way easier to work on and there is actually aftermarket.

Check for Cordoba related groups on facebook. That will show how wrong you are.

@@benkleschinsky Anyone who wants $5k for a pair of quarters wants to keep them forever. These cars are advertised often on these groups, some nice ones and some clean parts cars. There are many good deals out there. You can't say there is no interest in these cars. These mid to late 70s Cordobas/Chargers/Magnums have just as much interest as anything else from this era. You must compare apples to apples.
