I lost my virginity no less than five times, in the back seat of my old-man's 1973 Lincoln. Ginger-Gold Moondust, aka brown metallic - was the color, with a tan colored, heavily padded vinyl top. That good ole 460 V8, for it's behemouth size, was really not that bad in the MPG department. The sound of those 2 extra bbl's kicking in, was music to my ears...... Thanks for posting, as this jars loose many years of sweet, sweet MEMORIES!!

Really good taste, between Sinatra and The Detroit Emeralds. Tom Moulton at least once had said "Feel the Need" was his favorite thing he ever worked on. BTW - there's a quad 8 track version of THE MAIN EVENT, in addition to the stereo tape you have.

@@tracybone1336 Wax, sprays, dressings..... no. If your belt is squealing it either needs to be replaced or adjusted, or the hydraulic tensioner needs to be replaced. No serious mechanic uses that junk.

Hey bud I recently acquired a 77 continental great car I've noticed that my temp needle only rises right before the normal range our days have been in the 60s here, does your temp read the same?

Mine gets up to between O and R usually once it's warmed up. I've heard the temperature guages in our cars aren't the most accurate. Could be the issue, or could be a thermostat issue.

@@scottm2079 has a new thermostat, water pumps as well the car would overheat when at a stand still in warm weather turned out it was running lean, got the carb rebuilt and now it never crosses into the normal range, the temp sensor is a 2 prong and no autoparts carries it the car only has 38k original mailes

@@Ricardo_Wade what temp thermostat did you install? Could be too low, or possibly defective and opening up too early. Was the temperature reading accurately when it was overheating? That will eliminate the issue being the guage in the car.

The temp would read normal range but start to overheat say while in a drive thru burger place I bought a thermostat from autozone according to year make and model, 7.5L after installed it kept overheating I took it to a shop to get the car rebuilt sure enough the cat was running lean causing overheating the re built it and tuned the carb but now it never dips into normal range I bought a new sending unit it's coming in the mail Tuesday also found a used but working condition guage for cheap also bought it last night

Federal regulations back then. Speedo went up to 120 prior to that. I think I've read these cars with the 460 can get up to about 110 or so, not that I'd ever want to get her up that fast.

Around town I would put it around 9 mpg, out on the highway though she's getting 13mpg.

Engine was designed to run on regular 87 octane fuel. Premium is not needed.
