Brings back some memories. Back in the 90’s had a black one. Was a dog stock, did some work to it to gain a little performance. Mine seemed to have a few settle differences, I was told it was a 77 1/2 Z28

Nice! I know someone who has a 77 Z28 and he put 80s era Camaro sport wheels on in place of original 77 Camaro wheels!

Great video, and yes this car is very rare, only 10 % of the 1977 had an automatic trans and just over 18000 Z28s were built. Had one when i was 17 loved that car.

These actually are very hard to clone. The build plate on the firewall spells out the Z28 option. Mine is a red 4 speed. It won it's class at the Camaro nationals about 6 years ago. Pretty easy to make them fast and they are great handling naturally.

For all you so called experts.... This is a real Z28. I've had 3 and this one is a beautiful example!!

Great car, I had a 77 back in 1982. I had 1979, 1980, 1987 models as well. My 1977 was the best by far. Handled like a race car, not too slow either.
@nmcachamp200312 жыл бұрын
My 1977 Z28 had a borg warner super t10 close ratio four speed with 3:73 gears in the back. also the 8 track player only had 1 speaker in the rear deck on the left hand side.

You are right about everything you say. As smart as you are, you also know that the black paint on the window trim and tail light bezels would chip and peel off. Therefore on this car it just ended up being removed, The chrome air cleaner top was added just for looks. I sold this car and the buyer was thrilled with his purchase.I do videos with very honest descriptions. I sell the cars and everyone I sell to says the cars are even better than I describe them.

You need to lay off the coffee. The chrome air cleaner lid is not stock. I ordered a new 77 Z28 4 speed with A/C when they started to accept orders.

Nice survivor. It's interesting how some of the Camaro cues found their way to other cars in the Chevy lineup. The Vega got some of the Camaro's front end, and the Monza's tail lights are similar to that of the Camaro's ('74 to '77). Even the music is periodic.

I say $15K is on the high side for the big bumper Z28. I had a 77 and it was a great car. Some drunk dude rear ended me at 60mph.....anyway these things seem to go for less than $10K in pretty decent shape. As an investment I say $15K may be on the high side.....as a purchase of something you love and want to drive, I say the $15K was money well spent.

Wrong!! Build sheet was with car. The Black Window Trim you speak of had a tendency to peel off after a while, so it was just removed altogether. You need to be sure of what you speak before you insert foot in mouth. Tail light trim was black originally as well. It;s a real Z28.

If there is anything you'd like to know about the 1977 1/2 Z28 I could let you know. It was the 1st Z28 as a model, not an option and yes it is a true half year car. There were only 14,400 of them made. For the year of the car it put out some pretty decent numbers, hp, g rating, as I said for that time era they were pretty good. I've had 4 of them over the years. The last one I had only had 33,000 kms ( 20,000 miles ), yes I'm in Canada, on it. Fun car to drive, 4 spd with 3:73 rear gear, the auto trans had 3:43. You don't see many around. I'd hang on to it because the value is only going to go up from here.
@RMINTZELL13 жыл бұрын

The 77' waould be very hard to "clone" and very easy to spot. The 77' Z came with a quicker steering ratio, Automatic cars came with the "corvette" CBC transmission which had a deeper 1st gear and a higher stall speed, limited slip posi unit with a 3.42:1 (automatic) or a 3.72:1 (4 spd) gear. As well the Z cars came with much stiffer rated springs and bigger sway bars. Having owned several Z28's, and a base model 76 Camaro I will tell you there is no comparison when driving the 2 machines.

I could swear the air cleaner lid should be black. I saw every 77 Z28 we sold at the local Chevy dealer back in spring and summer of 1977 working in new car pre and checking in EVERY Chevy in the place. Can't remember ever seeing any chrome under that hood. GM too cheap to do that. LOL I can't remember the chin spoiler being anything but black either...
