Thanks for these video's. I just landed a job as a A&P assistant after 30+ years working as a plumber building hospitals and such. Back in the mid 1980's I did this work in high school as a first job. I'm checking out all the video's I can to get reacquainted with things before I start next week. I like to think that it's like riding a bike, you never forget, but it has been 35 years.

We always did compression check on day 1, almost the first thing. Run the engine up or even fly it around the pattern. Then the oil was drained, compression check was next with the engine hot. The oil filter was cut open at that point also. It all checked good, the plugs were always cleaned. Gap checked and retorqued in. Engine work was always done first. If you had a major problem, it was caught early.

Thank you for posting this video. I wonder about a couple items. Did your mechanic take off the muffler shrouds and check for exhaust leaks? I assume that he checked the alternator mount and belt, replaced air filter, etc.

Bought an older 206, new 3 blade prop,flap work,500 hr mag check,new hoes,tires,elevator left side,will be like new.New Avidyne 540,730 engine analizer,x- ponder,ads b,and Aspen pro 1000. Could have bought a new Lexus cash.Not to mention Cessna 140 , top left window replacement and 500 hr mag check annual due same time.I hope I can enjoy the 206 for a few years. Need to sell Cessna 140A,see trade A Plane 9682A. Wife would kill me if she knew what all this cost!

Seems like fun working on the airplane I wonder how much a 100 hr and the annual inspection cost.... Before I decide to buy one
