Glad to see this. I'm working on a 1975 Coachmen-(first time I've ever done any of this, no experience...and on a tight budget). Taking my time because if i'm in doubt, I wait until i'm sure. It's important that I don't totally screw this up. It doesn't have any heat or air, some of the lights act up inside...didn't want to tear all the walls that are solid up just to see why a couple flicker. You have me thinking about isolating those -(not using them)-in a new way. N I was happy to see the heat and sound insulation and bed liner used the way it is in your RV. I bought some of those as a "just in case" a few months ago and haven't used them yet because I wasn't sure exactly where/how. Now I know.:) Great ideas and inspiration. I have the layout of mine perfectly visualized to provide more space for my needs-but, have to get through the suring up or "tightening up", as you say. Great information. Thanks so much.

dont forget about the winnebago factory down south in Iowa. Highway 18 a little west of I 80 in forest city. They have a bargain bin warehouse with all kinds of spare parts for RVs MotorHomes campers ect. Furniture cabinetry appliances nuts bolts screws switches trim pieces, most of it is RV generic so it will fit whatever you run.

I wish I lived next door, so I can get advice...I'm in the process of insulating my compartments. My generator gas line has a hand pump that us hard as a rock. Bought a new one but the line is beyond what I feel comfortable replacing...I bought new LED lights for inside & out but again, not comfortable doing myself inspited of watching KZbin videos. Otherwise, I've pulled out all windows, vents & resealed. A mechanic told me I could reseal the transmission myself, and I watched your KZbin video...it came down to not being able to park here in the neighborhood for 2 days a week...hence I paid a mechanic...

I'm trying to restore my 1977 Dodge motorhome & had it tuned up, oil change, new battery & wires, along with a new transmission seal to the tune of $650 & they told me there is a small hole in the carburetor & needs to be replaced for $535...sounds expensive to me, but seeing the cost of a decent carburetor for a 440 engine... I've painted everything inside white, with new black hardware & magnets. I'm reupholstering the cushions myself. I could use some advice re: the 16.5 inch wheels. I've been wanting to switch to a 16 in. Wheel/tire but because it has a Dana axle, I'm hard pressed to find wheels to fit...looked into junkyards & called numerous tire companies. They want to sell me 16.5 tires which aren't radials for $900 & I found new 16 in wheels + tires for $1300 but they fit a Drexel axle....uggggh.

Great work as always Yankee. Another product I have been amazed by is Plasti dip. You know the stuff you coat the handle end of your tools. It now comes in a spray can and you can spray it on your rims or trim and the finish is unbelievable. plenty of youtube vids on this product. just thought I would share with you. Take care.

Hi buddy !! I’m having trouble with my running lights on my 77 They were working After I relived the ac and the stereo and thought I cleaned up some wires they aren’t working the front blinkers are acting up also I think the sockets are kind of shot When I mess with the bulbs and get the hazards working sometimes the running light flash with them Brake lights and headlights work hazards work when I mess with the front bulbs for the blinkers Any idea ? I did disconnect the red green and white wires that were running from back to front under the old carpet which I ripped out I thought they were stereo wires But not sure Any or tricks help mine is a 77 dodge 440 similar to yours

Looking good. Will the gen start from inside from remote panel? I am looking for a gen for my RV, but would like to set mine up to remote start. Got to search for used...new ones made for RV are ridiculous!
@Yankeeprepper
@Yankeeprepper 10 жыл бұрын
A remote start/hours meter and battery bank volts gage inside the cabin is part of the overall upgrade list. The plan is to fabricate an exhaust out the bottom of the compartment and then piped out the side but still allow the GEN to be easily disconnected. Most of the time I will remove the GEN to have maximum air flow and noise reduction, but there may be those times when I want to pull off and run the cabin air for a meal break on the road. I buy almost everything used at this point. There are a tremendous amount of generators on craigslist currently. Solar panels as well, I found a 500W 2 panel set with controller going for a good price last week. that would be perfect for the camper. The seller even stated in his add he was "DOOMSDAY PREPPING" when he bought them and now doesn't need them since he going back to school, LOL!

***** Sounds about like my plan. I have a Honda eu2000i that I use for camping now, but it's not big enough for air. (or remote start). I also have a hunting shack with no power, so I am rigging up a plano storage box/tote to hold 2 batteries, charge controller, and inverter. I'll probably use the tote for now for camper and shack, but will eventually set up RV with mounted battery bank. craigslist has done me well. I have found a lot of good stuff that people just wanted to dump cheap. I saw that ad as well. The panels are bigger than I prefer...for portability.
