1978 FORD LTD… REVIVAL TO DAILY? POLISHING A TURD???

In this video, the LTD gets new tires, I put the bumper back on, and start to clean up the paint! It is officially ready to be a daily, follow along to see me finish buffing and see if I will run into any problems. Don’t forget to like, comment and subscribe for more content!

A ‘78 was the first car I ever had back in ‘91. Green exterior with green interior. My friends called her “The Beast” or “The Hooptie”. It had about 65000 miles when I got her! The original owner wintered in Arizona and summered in Minnesota and towed it both ways. There wasn’t a fleck of rust on her. She was such a beauty!! The only thing I don’t miss of her is the cost of gas! Thanks for sharing! Have fun with her!!

Keep an eye on your gas filler cap area. I have fir trees in my yard and they loved getting down around the filler tube and stopping up the drain holes. It would flood the tank on the first rain and the small fuel filter on the carb would never shed all the water after that. I finally had to drill 2 holes below the cap to prevent it from filling up with water unexpectedly. Once the needles and dust make a bed, it rains and makes mud on top of the drain holes.

Nice i daily a 77' Cougar myself she actually did a great job last winter I had 8 40lb bags of softner salt in the trunk and had no issues. Had her out in snowstorms passsing every Jeep in the ditch. These are fun cars

After you buff out the paint. Remove the vinyl top, make some repairs to the roof( don't go nuts on the repairs) and paint the roof white or black with some inexpensive rattle can paint, and the old girl may not look too bad. Perfect for an old winter driver/ beater.

I am interested on what you did for the bumper install. I know there is a bracket set to the frame for it to bounce back in a slow impact. Ford's enamels at that time was the best. No matter what, the shine will come back.

I cut the factory mount plate off frame and made a plate that I welded to bumper
