Fantastic video loved it. I just got done restoring a 1979 KE 250 and looking at a 1978 KL250 next.

Yeh my 1979 kL 250 that happened twice on me. Bought new and at 3000 miles had to have head work done on it. At 6000 miles started doing it again and traded it off on a 1975 KZ 400. But the 250 was fun to ride on and off road.

I have one of these bikes in Australia, a 1978 model, and they are pretty rare here as well. Interesting watching your video.

Been There, Done That on that exact bike.( dumping it in a creek crossing In 1978 When I was 14 1/2 we purchased one brand new at our Local Kawasaki place here in Raleigh NC in the USA. Fond memories of this bike. Out of the 4 years i drove this bike , off road mostly but as well on road after I was 16 , I do not remember the first reliability issue with it. It got ridden hard off road those first couple of years too.

Why did you leave it in the water for a few seconds?

Hello. That's just because I am stupid. I first prefered to have a video than to save my engine. But I have been lucky. The engine had stalled and the air filter breathe from the left side of the bike. If the bike laid on the other side, it could have been a less lucky story !

hmm ... just still pondering to buy a Yamaha DT 400 (quite overpriced but well, it's a rare classic) or a XT 250 (I had one beside a DR 500 and a CB 500 Four ... and loved the little Yamaha, just the breaks and lights are bad). Never drove a Kawasaki KL, but it looks fine too ... well, the winter is long to decide.

I wouldn’t have shut it off. I would have just tried to pick it up as fast as possible preferably before it drowned itself out. If you shut it off water could potentially flow into the exhaust and into the engine

You would not pick up a R1250GS that easily, out of the stream! Nice KL, btw.

I had a kl once it was awful. A couple of years ago I got a klx think it was a 1978 really clean bike loved the motocross look but that was awful too. And I love old kawasaki I own Kd’s kx’ and kh’s All late 70s bikes. But there four stroke trail bikes definitely Weren’t the best but yours looks great seems to go well too. I’d love to know if you agree with me.

Hello Harvey. Yes, the KL250 was not a fantastic new bike when it appears. 6 years after the Motosport Honda XL250, it didn't bring too much of a progress. But I appreciate mine, a well balanced cycle with an honnest so easy to use engine. In 1978, the Honda XL250S was much more light and efficient. It was the deginning of ecology and four strokes, with less noise and smoke, were appreciated. We didn't had the KD's and KE 250 in France.

@@micoumeekoo my 1977 ke250b came from Colorado Springs USA So did my 175 I have kx125 /250 / 400 from 1976 if you press on the H you’ll a couple. I actually liked kl250 I think it was the lack of. Power. The ke250. Is very smooth and fast. It spins up very easily. I hope get one. If you was. Closer I’d let you use mine for a video it’s a really nice example. I have the DT250mx/E 1977 and the DT400B 1975 and a couple of mt250 s. Both 1975. One has 600 miles and the 2000 mile you would appreciate those. I’d be happy to send some pictures. Your. Videos are inspiring that you. I’m going to do some trips on the trail bikes after lockdown including the alps. Cheers Paul

Great... But listen, you have a great chance to now exponentially improve all your new videos, going forward: PLEASE STOP with the ridiculous sound effects. They add ZERO value to your videos, they make your videos seem silly, and they take away from the true beauty of your bikes. Your bikes are BEAUTIFUL! Your video VISUALS are BEAUTIFUL! Your videos will stand on their own merit WITHOUT THE SOUND EFFECTS. Your bikes SOUND beautiful. Let us HEAR the bikes 100% of the time rather than canned sound effects. Please! Going forward, I'd love to be able to watch all your videos WITHOUT having to turn the sound down... You really don't even need any music. Thanks...

Hello ! Sorry but my old GoPro have a bad microphone. The faster you ride, the less you ear the engine sound, only the wind sound. I have about 20% correct bike noise. In my videos, it happens I pick the sound of another sequence to add to the one I use, but that's not always easy, so I use stupid and silly sound effects. And may be you noticed that I am often freewheeling ? Thats because I hate noise. Already in the early seventies, I built and add an additional silencer to my trail bikes. And you know what ? There are cows again in my next videos, a 1975 DT400 and GT80 Yamaha.

Micou Meekoo I completely understand wind and road noise in GoPros and other cameras. I have the same problem. It's primarily the cow, chicken, and other noises that just completely rob your videos of quality. I'd recommend just using very soft calming music then, barely audible in the background, except when your engine is idling. Again, your bikes are great enough without needing the sound effects. Just video and maybe SOFT music in the background, and only to avoid complete silence... Great job though. Keep them coming! BEAUTIFUL sights! 😊😊😊

Hey Steve, I think you are right and wrong in the same Moment. May be there is no additional value for the Video rather a Little running gag ;) It is all not ment to seriously! For me it is a pleassure to see the sights, the connection to the nature, the short description of the bikes, and the Passion for these vintage Enduro bikes :)
