My first and only motorcycle !!! My brother " borrowed" it on leave from the Navy without asking me..... and wiped out going around a corner... and didn't tell me. The bike was never the same after repairs , so I sold it to another brother.

I’ve been wondering if this one was getting a video! I saw it in the shop the day of the brew fest. My first bike was a 78 GS1000, so I’ve obviously got a soft spot for the 70s GS bikes. Although, mine had lived a much harder life than that one has... a life that wasn’t helped by me getting “first bike” experience on it! But those things are great, and like you said, “bulletproof”.

My friend has an 1980 GS1000E with 8k miles. I personally owned the blue & white version of the 1986 GSXR750 parked to the side. I traded it for a wheelchair in 1988. No regrets. I hope to visit the museum someday.

I kick myself in the butt, everytime I see one. I had the same bike 40 years ago. But i have it heavily modified with Yoshimura 850 piston kit, stage one cams,29 mm smooth bore carbs , electronic ignition pack, custom cafe seat and paint. Boy do I miss that bike! It was fun to ride.
