My first bike lol, I loved it and it was a little tank! always ran without problems. That popping sound......ah, so cute. I got a Suzuki DR 125 after this one but my little TS100 was my go to bike. I got the DR125 stolen before it was one year old, poor little TS wasn't worth pinching.

Wow! nice bike and great camera. Most people who post videos of bikes like this have shakey cameras and what not.

Ah, memories. I bought my ts100 new back in early 79. Still have it! Going to do a full tear down on it soon. BTW, sounds like you're leaning out in the upper revs. Try moving the clip on your main jet down a notch to richen it up.

Sounds like a fun project. I'm considering doing a more complete restoration this summer (paint job etc). I thought I noticed it lacking power in the higher gears, so that might have something to do with it. I'll definitely take a closer look at my settings. I'm a pretty new rider so I appreciate any helpful comments like yours. Thanks again! -Matthew

MATTTYB96 Make sure to check/replace the points and condensor as well. Gap is really important, and really hard to check! IIRC you need to set the piston to x.xx mm's BTDC, then check the gap through that TINY little window in the flywheel. You'll need a set of really narrow feeler gauges. After you've set the gap, then and only then check the timing (which is also a major PITA to change!). I'm looking into some electronic options.
