Thank you Mr. Pena, lot of time, energy and effort in this old firebird. A simple work turn into a rabbit hole of work.

Glad to see you found it, but like I said, it's been a LONG time since I worked on those. 😎 I find it doesn't pay to take short cuts, as you find/found out. It usually takes twice as long to do it rather than take a little time to move things out of the way. Glad to see you found the interference at the bell housing area. Couldn't believe you were having so much trouble after using a pilot tool. However, glad to see you're taking the right approach. When/if we meet, I'll spring for beer and pizza! 🍺🍕

Your comment help sir, when you post it. It made us look for it harder, because this 78 Trans AM pieces are all over the place. You take a car apart, and it become a million pieces. Time passes as you build, looking for parts, parts on back order, now add the covid19 shipping crisis. You are right about cutting corners, it always come back to bite the rear end. Always do something the right way, without cutting corners means everything is taken care of and the job is done right and once. Yes it takes a long time, like our two coyote swap foxbody mustangs we are still building. Because we want power steering, power brakes, AC, sound deadener, etc. . . then you have to learn body work for yourself because there are no honest body shop in Illinois that I have been lucky to come across.
