Now i see from being an old ford push rod guy why everyone wants to ls swap everything. Its easy and bang for your buck you cant beat. Sorry about youtube. I hope you stick with it. That sucks about losing the cash flow. Hopefully you can work it out. I managed an auto parts store for a long time and if you don't mind me saying it, you need to stop buying stuff from Amazon (half of which is Chinese knockoff) and instead develop a strong business relationship with local parts store(s). We used to go WAY out of our way to help a loyal customer find solutions like your ujoint issue. It would be like a challenge to find solutions plus help breakup the mundane day of selling the same stuff over and answering the same questions over again. I'd have my guys pull every ujoint off the shelf, look in the specs catalog or do whatever it took. It's great experience for them, too. Think about it. And please stay away from flex pipe. Run a quick bead down it's length so it hold its shape and bring it to a local muffler shop and get them to bend you something close.

Im very frequent at oriellys. Every worker knows my name by heart now. The u joints are hard to get at oriellys because they don't go based off of size. They just go based off of vehicle. The only way i've been able to get conversion u joints from them is by cross referencing part numbers from google of the part and trying to find it in their system. I just simply go to Amazon and get it easily from Spicer. Flex pipe was the cheapest and best option. If we keep the car long enough i'll put a full x pipe kit on it.

That’s true about Amazon I got in the habit of ordering from Amazon because it was convenient and I didn’t know how I was wasting money on buying all the extra shit I couldn’t use or need. Orilley is where I go and get the warranty for life and if it’s a really custom part I go straight to the original supplier and if I did get the wrong parts I could exchange it the same day plus the paperwork was a lot more organized to show what I put into each vehicle

Do you have a driveshaft shop near you? I have a 79 trans am and my localish driveshaft shop only charged me $100 to shorten, balance and even paint my driveshaft and it works flawlessly. It looked like there was a few around Waco TX. I’m not sure where you live but I’m sure it will be cheaper using the stock one if you’re able to. Huge fan!

Well that is some bad news. If I were you I’d be stock piling videos between now and July. Release a few here and there but hold back a lot until you become monetized again. Also I’d get the right universal before you condemn the driveshaft.

I ordered a conversion. Did a little more digging after i finished recording and the driverside axle has a good amount of play so possibly just a bad axle bearing. Won't know until I get good tires and brakes on the car to actually drive it and get it up to speed.

Been watching your channel a lot lately, using your old videos as guides on my first LS swap. I really hope you get it all sorted out with YT, your content is entertaining and informative for the working man like my self. I want to say I have used the precision u joint 362 from Oreilly in the past for those set ups, used to have the part number written down….definitely been there before, but my driveshaft shop spoils me now just walk in and they know what I need for my old schools.

What I would do is create a second channel and start uploading daily there. Still upload here about once a week just for like a recap video to keep the channel active. Ideally they want uploads every day or two. What you need to do to grow is collaborate with other larger channels and piggy back off of their viewer base 🤷‍♂️ That’s how I got my first million subscribers…

Was looking around on the summit racing web site using 79 Camaro came across yoke part # MGR-MG3R-8500 looks like possibly the originally one you took off that you had in your hand. Looks like maybe u joint part # YGA-42013 might work?

Take the wheel off and bolt the drum on and see if it still shakes. Those tires look out of round and dry rotted. My money is on the tires

I did quite a bit more investigating after the video. It's possibly a worn axle shaft bearing or something with the rear end isn't right. It also seems it may have limited slip but is pretty worn out. Have to get good tires on it and brakes before I can really diagnose the issue. I believe the sound though is isolated to the driver side
