Built my 79 nova with my friend. It took 3 years and countless hours. I’ve owned this car from the age of 16 back in 2001. It’s been “built” many times over, but never Iike this...

I'd be happy to have my '76 coupe once again. Straight 6/250, bench seat, 3 banger on the floor. Although AC would be nice.

Ive got a 75, if that wasn't obvious by the name lol. Nothing special, has a big block in it and the only mod so far is an intake so I could put my new carb on. Ill be going for more of a mad max vibe, burnout contests (won 1 already!) Maybe some passes at the local strip if I can ever get it to pass tech lol.. im still fixing things from previous owner(s) He bought it without a motor, and its pretty obvious he did whatever he had to do to make it work... Wires that go nowhere, things that dont make sense etc. A cheap cell in the trunk.. I think 2 owners ago was gonna dirt track it or something.. idk.. its a mess but I like it. Its been a learning experience. Ive turned wrenches for quite a while now but its mostly been new stuff, hadnt had much chances to do the hot rod thing until now. You got a clean car thats for sure.

My first car was a plain jane 79' Chevy Nova with stock Rally wheels and a 305 with 2 barrel carb under the hood. I believe the transmission may have been a hydraulic 350 but not positive on it. One thing I know for sure was the thing was a real sleeper and fooled many.

Yo!! Beautiful Nova man! Best 4th gen I’ve ever seen. Quick question, are those fiberglass front and rear bumpers from Glasstek a straight bolt on?
@jcmoney41253 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I suppose they could be mounted using factory brackets. I ditched the factory setup and used custom mounts you will see in my build video and glued the bumpers to those brackets. You might have to do a little fab work to mount as they come as a fiberglass shell basically but nothing some scrap pieces of metal won’t solve.

Good photography throughout your presentation not bad background music too. My preferred taste though is not necessarily black on black I know that everybody has their own style and opinion but these cars are going to be coming back and they're pretty good cars they have a similar weight as a Camaro or firebird and they have a similar weight of a mustang yet they have a back end area that is compatible for adults full size and they also have a larger trunk space that's a little bit more practical yet they weigh about the same and they're not much heavier than a Corvette although a Corvette has better suspension or a Dodge Shelby Cobra and if you put a really big engine of course in a Shelby Cobra or Corvette it's really fast but if you put a really big engine and something like a Nova or a concourse and you put a little bit of low end gears with the different fuel mixture you have something that's faster than a Corvette or a cobra in a quarter mile it doesn't take actually that much and it's much more affordable less expensive and the only thing that the disposition of a Nova or a concourse is yeah it doesn't have perfect aerodynamics but you only really need really acquittable aerodynamics at speeds of 150 and 200 mph that's where you need the air dynamics and spoilers and things like that so as long as you're only doing 100 miles an hour these cars are very practical

Peter Landry I have the speedtech streetfighter kit. It’s a bracket you add to the frame for true coil overs up front, tubular upper and lower control arms, I used the stock steering box. Spindles are corvette I believe. Check the kit out on their website it should have all the details. They have several kits of different levels.

Awesome Ride Guy! Took driving test in 79 ,2 door with 250 -6,th350.. Damn near indestructible. Always spot in my heart for these cars/77-79. . Yours is the meanest Looking I've seen Yet. And I probably search em once every month or 2. 5 star build. Can you share some quick specs, block,turbos,trans, gearing?? Any idea on whp? Also, where are you from/living? You gotta post a time on her as soon as strips get rolling again. Take care.
@jcmoney41254 жыл бұрын
It’s a 5.3 forged bottom end. Motor was built from ground up starting with a new block from gm. Tick stage 2 cam. Turbos are precision 62/66. Trans is a th400 reverse manual valve body, direct port transbrake, ultra bell from Rossler. Converter is PTC. Gears in it now are 3.70 with a spool however I have a new Strange S-trac that just showed up from Midwest chassis with 3.25 gears going in. Car made 718whp so far on the dyno. My Aeromotive fuel pumps couldn’t keep up passed 20psi so I have dual hellcat 525 pumps on the way. Car should make 900-1000 wheel on my next visit to the dyno somewhere around 30psi. I cruise around on 12 psi and she’s a tire burner already. I’ll definitely get to the track I’m hoping for 5’s in the 1/8th mile but all in all she’s a true street car and cruises like a Prius until you lay in to it! Thanks for the comments

Are you or your good friend an engineer by chance or are you or your friend just Ultra mechanically inclined?? Your girl looks better then fry burgers F-bomb Camaro. Also where is your home track? Would love to come watch her Roar. She really is perfect Imo.

Just a couple of hobbyists. He’s a farm boy who just loves cars and has built some pretty sick shit. I have a video of his TT firebird on here if you search. Lancaster speedway or empire in Buffalo NY is where we go. Might try and get it to LS fest at some point.

Please tell me where did you source the Hood and rear Wing ? I love the way your car looks! I love the all Black theme. Everything looks just right. I have watched this video over and over again. I am going drag racing again! I would greatly appreciate it if you would let me know where to get the cowl hood and wing. (Also what is the cowl height? Thanks, Mike
