That police light bar on the chrome tree is a holdover from the old original issue MPC "Squad Rod' '79 nova kit. Great build sir, I've already placed my order for one.

Back in the early 90's I purchased a 1976 Nova from my older cousin for $600 bucks. It was a 4 door with an inline six-cylinder and it was green with green pleather interior. I loved that car! Thanks for another great build. I'll be ordering this MPC kit once it's available.

Nice kit for some serious kit bashing.... A big block maybe with a tunnel ram from the '67 chevelle pro street kit and the box scoop from the '66 pro street kit.. The headers from the chevelle pro street kit should fit without any problems... The possibilities are endless.... 🤔🙂👍
@purpurahaze917910 ай бұрын
If you want to do that to it just buy the The Squad Rod it's already a tubbed drag car just ad the big block

Now I know where I've seen this kit before! Given the police lights, this is probably the one issued as the "Squad Rod Nova" in the early 1980s because if I remember correctly you could do it as the customized police car or a regular street machine. It seems like they thought of everything with this decal sheet. The lights are a nice touch because it is very hard to get molded in chrome headlights to look realistic, and I don't think I've ever seen such comprehensive dashboard decals either. I always enjoy seeing these models in a less than pristine state and the back stories you come up with.

Great Vid !! I will be grabbing one. Do have a question….. you usually “dull coat” your chrome, can you use Tamiya flat clear or does have to be enamel ? Thanks
@hpiguy10 ай бұрын
I'm nor sure to be honest. I've only used the Rustoleum for that process as it reacts really well with the Tamiya black wash for a great steel effect.

Cool build, better back story. Might want to make the middle of the hood look burnt though. The carbs look like Holley Dominators and soon as your boy flogged the pedal on a stock, single exhaust motor, l guarantee a huge backfire is forthcoming. Stomp...Bang...Oh s>

Love watching your vids. You got me into a very addictive hobby. I know most of your builds are out of the box components, but would love to see attempt the build I'm struggling with. 1994 Chevy s10 with 15x6 front runners, 15x12 rear slicks and a small block Chevy. I've got the rear frame and axle shortened, but am struggling trying to figure out how to get the V8 to fit.

Not really sure the manufacturers so much gave up as gave in. Smooth, featureless, bland lack of anything interesting or unique was "Euro-styling" even though it was mostly on Asian imports, and people bought it. Anything that wasn't Honda-bland was "excessive". As a kid it infuriated me. Then you add the government meddling incompetence and I can see why the "why bother" attitude took over.
