Very interesting, well researched and well presented. The problem statement with Islam is it is not able to reform itself . It is only able to become more extreme, more narrow, hence more violent. This has been the general historical thrust since those Muslims , influenced by Aristotle , wanted to apply Aristotelian thought to the Muslim Religion, were intellectually defeated. There was a massive internal struggle over this and the Aristotelian ones lost and, in general , ended up in then, Andalucía ( Muslim controlled Spain). While there , through contacts with Christian monk types Europe became aware of Aristotle, which is a fascinating story in and of itself. However, I digress. Since the defeat of the Aristotelian Muslim Scholars the general intellectual movement in the religion has been one of narrowing, that is a kind of integration of: religion, politics, & law into an increasingly narrow ergo violence prone ideology. The great irony here is that the only places wherein the Muslim religion can truly reform itself and achieve some , if not all and then more of its former magnificence is in the West, in open type societies. At one time the Muslim religion was indeed magnificent. Just look at what it crested in its Golden Age: the Arabesque, Algebra, beautiful mosques, philosophical thought , navigational skills, etc. etc. etc.. Let us hope that they find their way, for the world would truly benefit as it did from Islam’s Golden Age. I worked with many Muslims during my deployment to Iraq. The regular type Muslim is really not that different from most people. Many were very good, pretty much wanting what everyone wants, a nice family , good work and a peaceful life. I am not unaware that there are issues , some very bad, but the ones with whom I worked I got along with okay. This was a great presentation. Thank you very much!!!!

Knowing very little about Mohammeds religious doctrines, I honestly don't think slaughtering innocent humans could be possibly one of the beliefs.

Infidels are not innocent. Islam calls for subjugation of non Muslims, forcing them to pay a special high tax for protection against the Muslims for the purpose of making them feel subjugated. Muslim armies are permitted to sleep with women they have conquered even if their husbands are still alive. A Muslim man can have up to 4 wives and as many sex slaves as he can own. Islam also allows for marrying and divorcing of prepubescent girls. Surah 65:4 Google is your friend.

"Westernization" as defined by the West generally never works in traditional non-Western cultures. These countries want modernization and progress but but not they see as Western hedonism and materialism. The current world situation reflects a major anti-West philosophy. The BRICS alliance against the G7 is a major example.

Is it or is it not true that the French special forces “temporarily converted” to Islam to enter Mecca?
@Read-My-Post-Idiot12 күн бұрын
You should look up the word research and apply it instead of asking someone else online.
@crocodiledundee868511 күн бұрын
I can answer. Nope. The French merely advised, they never entered Mecca. The claim came afterwards when the lead adviser after leaving the special forces wrote a book about his experiences and said he did it.

@@crocodiledundee8685 what incentive does a French ‘advisor’ have to claim he temporarily converted to Islam vs what incentive does the Saudi royal family dealing with an Islamist anti-western rebellion have to cover it up?

Mecca is prohibited from non-muslims entering it, even the highway leading there has a lane dedicated for non-muslims to use it.

@@theMOCmaster for the former fame and glory. Look no further than Chris Ryan & Andy McNab, veterans of the disastrous Bravo Two Zero who falsely blamed their commanding officer for the mission’s failure in order to prop themselves up. For the latter it’s multi-layered. One, the Saudi Royal family’s claim to the throne is their sole claim to protect & defend Mecca for all of Islam. If they admit to using foreign non-Muslims it undermines their claim to the wider Islamic world (especially when at the time there were plenty of other Arab countries looking to seize Mecca from the Saudis which is why they hired the French as they didn’t care about Mecca). Second, it was the largest uprising in the kingdom’s history and it shook Saudi Arabia to her core.
