You have very nice 140s and for it being it original there actually in good condition not a lot of rust I would keep them original.

Those 140ies are some good looking Tractors. Too bad that IHC dont sold those in my Country.

Here in Australia we only received the 140 High Clearance model. They were sold as a specialist row crop tractor.

I see. In my Country IH build all they're Tractors on they're own mostly. But the first ones, the F-12G was build by use Parts from America. And in the 60ies we imported the 504 and selled it as D-514 if i am not wrong.

I got online today to look up a 140 serial number to check the year of a tractor I want to buy. The serial #66907 J located in South Carolina.

ken oshea I find it interesting that the new tractor did not could will a quick hitch. I guess join tobacco country, people purchased these tractors just to cultivate rows of plants with only.

Saw your tractor serial # 66896 in Montgomery, Alabama this past Saturday. We have a 1979 140 also, serial number 64594 which I believe is the 50th one built in 1979. She has been cultivating corn this year but my favorite thing is pulling that two bottom one point hitch IH break plow! Danny Hembree

That trailer hookup is a standard part for hooking up implement lights. Same style plug on some of the newer tractors at home.
@tyfrank34277 жыл бұрын
That trailer hookup is the same as the 86 series and up use. They standard 7 way round pin trailer hookup which is what big trucks use and they are very common. They are used especially for implements such as the 914 combines and some balers that use limited electric controls. The flashers are wired to them. I couldn't find in my notes the which was the last 140 built, but this one very well could be.

A Ford 1710 hi-crop offset with power steering is a far better cultivating tractor
@farmall517 жыл бұрын
EZ570 sales of each tractor says it all. Along with production numbers . The 140 may or may not have been a better tractor but to have been produced for 21 years and the numbers that came off the assembly line speaks for itself. Ford , jd, Kubota and Oliver all tried to get a piece of the pie from IH .
