Awesome job, I can't believe that little tractor is doing such a great job, pulling the plow.

It is impressive the AG tires are sufficient. No need for tire chains. I was told John Deere intended those tractors to be sufficient for a man to manage a ten acre farm. They designed the plow and disc for planting. There is a center grading blade for leveling dirt and gravel. A front plow and snow blower for clearing in winter and probably a few more implements I am not aware of. Thanks for sharing and for saving this old tractor. They are so rugged they are worth the time and expense to preserve them. A few years ago I started collecting the 200 series and 300. At least now I have a fleet so there are spare parts no matter what. AS far as I know the only part no longer available from John Deere dealers is the axles for rear trans. They have sold out of all inventory. But at least they are really hard steel, not likely to break or wear out. Next time you have the tractor lifted at the back, give the tires a shake. If you can wiggle them left to right or up/down that indicates the hub is wearing. At least that is an an easy fix. Used and new hubs are available on line and new at the dealer. They are deliberately made of softer metal so they wear instead of the spline on the axles. It is a much bigger job removing the axles so I'm glad it was designed that way. Replacing the hubs helps protect the axles. If allowed to wear excessively, that might damage the spline on the axle. With one of mine I had to use a skinny file to dress the outer edges before the new hub would slide on. That is a sign I caught it in time. A great source for parts is at "isavetractors.com".

These older John Deere tractors are little beasts. I have a 316 that use with a hydraulic tiller and I have a two way plow and a mower deck. Amazing pieces of equipment.

It sure is a challenge finding a sleeve hitch type 1 bottom plow used here around Saint Paul Minnesota. Most of the ones I see are way across Wisconsin or a 3+ hour drive one way. New ones are $500.

The sleeve hitch??? Came with the tractor
@drodriguez393510 ай бұрын
Yeah, I was gonna say that sleeve hitch is built-in because I was looking for the handle when you were lifting it up and down and realized that handle is manufactured or built into the machine. Pretty freaking cool.🇺🇸
