Glo Waves this is the Game he got his leg broke, right before halftime, I remember thinking to myself he'd have to be dead not to come back and play... I was right... I was jumping up and down saying I knew it, I knew it! Too bad he broke his leg, it cost the Rams the Superbowl, if Jack's leg was not broke he would of been a 100 percent against the Steelers and no way in hell Bradshaw would of had the time in the pocket to throw those bombs to Stallworth ... My first RAM game was in69 my Dad worked for the LA Times to this day till the day I die I'll be a RAM Fan, because of the fearsome foursome and the greatest no name defense ever to play in the NFL Youngbloods Defense, took my Son to Canton in 01, Got his RAM helmet signed by Youngbloods and Dryer ... priceless

During the Super Bowl against the Steelers, Waddy was wide open on the post. Ferragamo passed the same as he did against the Cowboys and it was intercepted by Lambert. Too bad Ferragamo didn't pass it to the man who made the play against Dallas. Still burns me to this day.

Dallas did not have the same defense in 1979 that they did in 1978. Too Tall Jones was gone, Thomas Henderson was cut, Charlie Waters was injured & Bill Gregory was traded. I think that if all of these guys were there, they would have gone back to the Super Bowl to play Pittsburgh a third time & Roger Staubach's last game would have been in the Super Bowl. As far as the absent defenders go, I was not trying to make excuses, I just saying what I strongly believe is true.

I think getting faked on the FG and getting beat around the corner by Cromwell was probably was the beginning of the end for Cliff Harris also

In today's NFL they would have wasted 10 minutes reviewing the spot on that fake FG play.
@oscarmarquez5542

Seems like they were already up 21-19 and ran the clock out by getting that 1st down with a fake fg less than 15 seconds. The go ahead acore was a tip pass for a TD. Talk about a fluke play going against dallas. Glad i wasn't even born to see that
@OBESPRING1982
@OBESPRING1982 6 жыл бұрын
No fluke at all, as the deflection did not significantly reroute the direction of the pass, it just knocked the spiral off of it. The Ron Smith TD on the bomb from Ferragamo at the end of the first half was another case of the Dallas dbs giving it up in a crucial situation.
@oscarmarquez5542
@oscarmarquez5542 6 жыл бұрын
OBESPRING1982 it is a fluke because that slight tip causes the ball to slow down regardless and the play is not designed to be tipped to WR for a TD
@OBESPRING1982
@OBESPRING1982 6 жыл бұрын
Has a single member of the Cowboys ever stated it was a fluke? If so, give me the link. If not, you're just showing your ignorance. I wonder if you've even seen the play,. Waddy was taking that pass in stride, whether it was grazed or not.
@oscarmarquez5542
@oscarmarquez5542 6 жыл бұрын
OBESPRING1982 and if someone would ask any team that they have a play that is designed to be tipped for a TD late in a game all of them would say NO at any level of football. No link for that would be needed.
@OBESPRING1982
@OBESPRING1982 6 жыл бұрын
The QB hit the WR on a crossing route, as the play was designed. The intended receiver never broke stride, gathered in the perfect pass and proceeded, untouched, into the end zone. You can't draw it up any better than that. Nothing that the defense did on the play effectively prevented that from happening. The defense let the WR carry the ball into the end zone after allowing him to receive the pass on his prescribed pass route. I don't think that was the objective when the Cowboys broke the huddle, was it, genius?. Not surprising, considering that double coverage by the Dallas DBs at the end of the 1st half failed to prevent a TD on a long bomb. The QB linked up with the WR for the game-winner near the end of the 2nd half but it wouldn't have been possible if Dallas hadn't given it up at the end of the 1st half, also. Doomsday, indeed!
