Those two sentences you put together tell a wonderful story that us reader's can unfold. I can see a man and his boy Learning about life through a football game. You probably talked about your first girl you had a crush on - you got a pep talk about your struggle in math class - what you would like to do with your future - the hug your father gave you at halftime when you talked about your best friend who was killed in a car accident. Something I never had but I find comfort in those who were close with their father. I did however watch football with my mommy once she fell in love with Ken Stabler when I was 11years old. She swore she would never watch football again when the Raiders traded him to Houston. But then the Phoenix - Jim Plunkett - rose out of nowhere to turn the 2-3 Raiders into an 11-5 record and win the Super Bowl and had to best Stablers Oilers 27-7 along the way. I think it was Lyle Alzado, whom she hated when he crushed her Stabler while with Denver, but when he sacked him in that game she hesitated and then yelled "yea that's it kill him Alzado'' She had her knew handsome QB and she researched his storybook life. Plunkett came out of nowhere and followed with 5 more seasons. My mom never watch another football game from start finish and no more yelling at a defensive lineman for bashing her beloved Plunkett. She bought his book when it was issued after his career. Before she died, I was able to get an autographed Jim Plunkett Jersey when he played at Stanford. I still have it. And I just realized that your two sentences brought back these great memories of my little southern mommy who loved Stabler for his beard and wild life style and then Plunkett who really moved her with his story. It wasn't a dad, but it was a nice 7 year run sharing my love for the Raiders All because of #12. But I never put Plunkett over the Snake.... If I need a touchdown to win a super bowl, I would pick Tom Brady. If I needed a touchdown to save my life, I choose Stabler YHWH bless

Starting with the Browns I've always loved the Kardiac Kids orange pants paired with brown or white just a unique and great look hopefully these become the primaries in 2020 for their new uniforms. Also the Cowboys uniform is different from now I actually loved this royal blue paired with the actual gray/blue pants. Also, the font for the Cowboys was beast back in the 70s they went to that generic shit around 81 or 82. Just an overall great video when MNF was a real event and I love the fact that the uploader left the commercials in that's awesome!

When we review the 1980 Browns, they were legitimately 1 play from a real shot at a Super Bowl. The Browns kick that FG, and defeat the Raiders, they matched up perfectly with the Chargers. I think they would've defeated San Diego and Philadelphia in the Super Bowl. That was 1980, this year 1979 gave us a preview of the potential the Browns had.

Ironically, as a dufus 8 year old I thought artificial turf was so cool, probably because it wasn't in my market. @penguinsfan2518 ай бұрын
I remember this game. Grew up 25 miles from Cleveland....wecwere and are all Pittsburgh fans. Never liked the orange pants..too pumpkin like. The white pants they went back to in 1984 were better. Cleveland put a pasting on Dallas that night. I won some money. At the same time, Pittsburgh and Montreal were battling for first place in the NL East. 3WE in Cleveland carried the Pirates' broadcast from KDKA radio that night. The Bucs and Montreal split a doubleheader but the Pirates won the next three games to take first place in the NL East, then the National League pennant and then the World Series. Cleveland had a good team in 1979. Their problem was being in the AFC Central with Pittsburgh and Houston. The Browns would have won the NFC Championship had they been there instead. Finally, due to the 80K capacity, the Browns did not sell out every game. This game made it to local TV. Usually only the Steeler game sold out in advance. Cleveland Stadium was a dump. The lower deck seats were obstructed view and far from the field. The seats were narrow and wooden. Cold air came in off the lake. Before Modell made the move the stadium was crumbling. Browns fans did not deserve to lose their team but Cleveland and Cuyahoga County dragged their feet in replacing the stadium and Maryland had financing, land and a fan base waiting and ready for a team. Al Lerner, the Browns minority owner, was a banker in Maryland and had a lot of connections in Baltimore. He helped convince Modell to move. The rest is history. The Browns had a good 2023. Flacco has been amazing and the Browns have a shot at the Super Bowl.
