@@neighborhoodmusicsnob5517 Heavy music seemed to be trending the wrong way in the 2010’s. There are always exceptions but as a whole it wasn’t great. There’s quite a number of bands helping bring it back and knocked loose is at the front of that. You could pick these guys up and drop them off in ’96 and no one would be any the wiser. That 1st gen metalcore sound was so unique and it’s refreshing to hear it getting back to the roots, so to speak
@neighborhoodmusicsnob55173 жыл бұрын
@@JD-hc1sr as far as bands getting big are concerned, definitely. There's always been great bands but I agree there was a point where especially in the punkier side of things not enough good bands were getting the respect they deserved. Deathcore wasn't as fun anymore and you had too many proggy nerds in the metal world alongside some very unoriginal 80s ripoffs. But I dunno something changed around halfway through the 2010s. Maybe bands were finally figuring out how to use the Internet effectively. Maybe people started working collectively to build their scenes instead of flailing around individually waiting to magically get popular. Maybe the scene as a whole got less bigoted cause I certainly remember an accepted level of homophobia up until the 2010s (it certainly kept me in the closet for a while) and we're still trying to work on getting rid of the transphobia. It's probably a little bit of all these things bubbling under the surface until it finally came together. In any case it definitely feels like the spirit of 90s metallic hardcore and turn of the century metalcore is back with a modern twist that keeps it fresh and interesting. So we have the best of both worlds now. Cherish and share it while it lasts.
