Well, if you want to know why it's like that, it's because he isn't using an acoustic kit. At the very least his bass drum is electronic. He's still playing the songs, but each kick is a sampled trigger sent directly through the amps as opposed to mounting a mic within an actual acoustic bass drum. Still sounds phenomenal by all means.

@@mrrainydays4492most times it’s an acoustic kit with either external triggers or sometimes pedals have a triggering mechanism built into them. They used to be considered cheating back in the day, because people did use to trigger two kicks for every hit. But these days they’re mostly just used to ensure they get a consistent tone out of the drums. When you tour all over the place where each place can have different climates that can effect the tone of the drum, it’s much easier to use a pre-recorded sample 🤷🏻‍♂️
