Using a few hours here and there, I get the front brakes finally complete and ready for the first drive of the truck!

Just a suggestion but as long as that truck sat I would have replaced the wheel bearings and races while I was doing the brakes but that's just me

Thanks for the video, I needed some reminders on how things work with these brakes. Also, does your truck have an electric choke? If it does, where is the electrical wire hooked up at? I had to connect mine at the fuse box with an off and on switch because I didn't see anywhere under the hood to get power except where power is constantly on.

As I recall, mine had a manifold heat choke, but the electric choke only needs to be connected to a source of voltage that is on with the key on and off with the key off.

@@whattherust I never could find anywhere under the hood to hook it up to.

Hey, just subbed to your channel tonight! Loving the f100 series so far. I have an '80 f100 w/a 300 myself outta Dobbs ford in Memphis grandad bought new off the lot. I'm newer to wrenching myself. I did this brake job a few years ago w rotors and bearings. Didn't do the lines tho. Wish I could've seen how ya actually did it. I know I gotta bear of a job coming up w the rear drums. Snag a tripod so we can see all the great action, thanks for the explanations, and keep up the great work!

Hello From Mark In KY. Thanks for your video regarding the front brakes. On my 1985 F-150, I suspect that my front brakes are pretty much identical to your trucks front brakes. The 1990 F-150 that I also own has the brake caliper pins that slide into the brake caliper with the two metallic halves sandwiching the rubber with no bolt like your brakes have. I need to inspect my rear drum brakes before winter weather sets in. Good Luck on getting rid of the belt squealing on the AC compressor pulley. The belt dressing helps for a short while, But not very long. The AC belt tightening process should not be as complex as the engineers at Ford decided that it should be. My AC compressor looks slightly different than yours, But still a severe pain to adjust the belt tension. My strategy is to replace the front shocks when I decide to work on the brakes being that the wheels would be removed anyhow. I’m looking forward to your upcoming test drive on your F-100. As Always, Best Regards.

Right, the belt dressing did not last long (maybe 10 minutes). I did tighten the belt today, but no luck. Looks like I will replace it. I should be able to drive it this weekend!

Upside down pad! I'm amazed it was stopping when it was on the road. Amazed they got it to "work". Good work on the brake job! 👍Can't wait to see it on the road again.

Remember that brake fluid is extremly corrosive. And do'nt forget to resurface the roter, back to nice & smooth!

i have found that if i didn't clean really good wire brush and put a small amount of brake grease on the slider sometimes it will wear one pad more than the other
