Here's a walkaround of my grandparents' 1980 Ford Fairmont. This particular car is a base model which is equipped with the 3.3L "Thriftpower Six" inline-6 engine (which produces a blistering 91hp and 160 lb-ft of torque) and a 3-speed automatic transmission. I had the honors of prepping it for a parade and car show and I really wish I had done before and after videos because the results were staggering. Admittedly it isn't the cleanest in this video since it was filmed after the parade and everything and I do apologize for that. Ultimately this car is certainly a blast from the past and I've loved every second being around it and working with it.

this is crazy! My grandparents had one just like yours! the sun bleached it so it was a brighter red. That's awesome!

Cool. I just came up on one too. some old people mist have owned it because its pretty immaculate, other than some fading paint on the trunk. Even blows cold A/C. Ill be looking to sell it soon.

That brings back memories. My first car was a cherry red '81 Fairmont. The steering wheel hub pops off. good place3 to hide money lol.

This 200ci engine is unkillable. It’s very smooth also, and has plenty of torque.

I liked the predecessor Maverick better but the Fairmont was a good car too.

I actually just now got this one too. My grandparents recently gave it to me. It needs A LOT of work. I'm still trying to learn about them myself so unfortunately I don't have any tips just yet.

The horn button is on the turn signal stalk. Not one of FORD'S better ideas.

It’s definitely a weird placement for it. Thankfully I haven’t needed to use it yet, but I do wonder if I’ll remember it’s there if I ever do.
