That was the first year of the redesign and you no longer had to choke it from the dash. Which my 79 had a joke. The good part of that is it never broke you know the choke. And also you no longer had to change the points and condenser. That was a big deal for 1980 with electronic ignition woohoo

Cool! Just out of pure curiosity, though: Would these even be good for daily driving (in today's standards)? I've had a lot of people tell me that an old car as a daily driver is a terrible idea, yet I've seen people take Hondas as old as this as their daily cars. Is it even a good idea, or should I skip it?

It will need a lot of care and it will cause a lot of headache but if you find one that you love it will be well worth your trouble.

You wouldn't want this to be a daily driver because you'd put too many miles on it.

I probably should have drawn a diagram before taking apart the fuelsystem... Would you be able to tell me where the fuel pump lines go to and from under the car?

dumb question but is this car still for sale? I had a 1981 1500gl, but had been up north in the military winter screwed it up

I heard parts are really expensive. Is it truth?

Did it have the hondamatic 2 speed?
@David64T8 жыл бұрын
@ 1:21 looks like it, lol. I loved everything about my 1980 Civic except that strange auto gearbox - perhaps a tribute to that engine though that you could essentially drive it from walking pace up to max speed in a single gear, putting aside the fuel consumption at higher speeds...
@woohunter18 жыл бұрын
+David64T good eye! At around 1:31 you can see the speedometer with the L going up to 50 mph, I forgot about that, boy times were simple back then
