There's a lot of criticism and discontent as it pertains to the Moscow Olympics. I frankly don't get it! This particular competition was very close, but the Soviet and Czech clearly had slightly better throws than the Cuban. The fact that Maria Colon from Cuba won the javelin and Daley Thompson excelled in the decathlon, as did several Westerners in other events, points to the fact that officiating seemed fair. Several Soviets who came in as world record holders, lost and didn't even medal in some events. The crowd was rather raucous, but it was in 1984 as well.

Most of the field events of these games are so "dodgy" in their results its unbelievable - men's triple jump, men's javelin, men's discus, women's long jump, even a couple of the relays had the rules bent in order to get a Soviet victory.

Jamesthrowing: you don't have 1980 Moscow women's javelin featuring a triumph for Cuba and bad performances from Ruth Fuchs, Tessa Sanderson and the Soviet world record holder?

Luis Delis last throw was longer than 66 32 m.. That was a gold medal throw. Delis was robbed.
