1980's General Electric Preheat Circline T9 Lamp (Bad video quality, don't know why)

This video was uploaded with 720p HD but after a couple of months it started to look only in 240p. If you know why this happened or how to correct it please tell me!
Here you can see a really old lamp, manufactured by GE in the mid-1980's. At first I thought it was from the 1960's but is not.
It still works with it's original bulb and has a magnetic ballast that makes some good sounds!

A family friend of mine has an entire kitchen/dining room full of these. it's in a house in the back of their property that they mainly use for storage. Seeing these in person allows me to enjoy the wonderful sound of 6 of theese, all from the late 1970's.

It is! Now i am really regretting not getting it when I had the chance! I have never seen anything like that since then but it is really far, far away from where I live and I don't know well the people who own it.

My parents have this bulb in their boiler room in the basement. It's been running like a champ since 1997. LOL

I'd like to find one of those adapters. I have a couple of Robertson ones, one with a steel ballast housing and the other with a plastic ballast housing. The one with a plastic housing has an electronic ballast from an old Philips Marathon lamp fitted since the old magnetic ballast gave up.

Very nice and ecologic. You can replace only the bulb. I never saw this version in Europe. I would like to have one like this, but 32W and 3000K warm white for my kitchen!

Yeah, now that i think it twice, the adapter may be from the late 80s, not from the 60s, but who knows, thats what the owner told me! But youre right! The bulb may be from the 90s onwards!

It stated that it was from the 1960's, not the 1980's in the video, yet this video is labeled 1980's instead of 1960's. Which decade is it from?

These were made in the 60's to 90's I think. before CFL's took over
