Caz Gerald this is not a Chevy. you act like he set the Toyota body on a Chevy frame. it's still mostly Toyota! frame , axles, transfer case, body, is all Toyota. only thing not is motor and trans, and lift kit. if someone lifts an original Toyota you don't say it's not Toyota because it has a lift

1980 Toyota SR5 frame off custom restoration of a modified truck: 350 SB Chevy 300+ HP, 350 Turbo Trans, turned axles, sandblasted and painted frame, 8" lift 4/4, 39" military tires, custom paint, all steel, new seals and bearings, less than 2000 miles on restoration, 10 point roll cage, racing seats with 5 point harness, NEW carpet, liner, handles, mirror, visors, windshield and seal, custom paint color and spray in bed liner, Aluminum fuel cell, custom dual exhaust, bumpers, CD stereo / sound system, Optima battery, Be-Cool engine and transmission cooling systems with thermostatically controlled power fans, Cast aluminum valve covers and oil pan, all lights and wiring, dash cap, step bars, custom gauge package and much more not listed. AND yes I know its not an 80 bed, original one was gone and not able to repair. I could only find a 83-84 bed when rebuilding.

That's either a 2wd bed or the bed/truck was from Canada. The ones sold to Canada had no tie downs on the sides/rails and basically no fender flares..

just a beautiful truck i had a 1980 when I got out of high school had it for 20 years but I did not have a V8 in it. But that 20r got me around real well dam good little engine. Then I went out and purchase a new 1997 Toyota Tacoma v6 brand new . because the 80 was such a good truck. This truck looks great but just the body is Toyota everything else is after market I noticed.

Did the bed bolt up with little to no modifications i have a 1980 im rebuilding and i cant find the right bed so i was going to do the same as you seeing as how the body lines were almost flawless

Zoi Whitfield I believe they bolt up. I can't remember for sure. it's been a long time since I have worked with Toyota's. I have one I will start on soon. I'm collecting parts. but I have a box so I won't need to swap them. but it seems like they just bolted up back in the day if I remember right. I remember guys running fiberglass step side boxes and they would swap over

Barbra because it is very easy to do. good power and you won't have to change much of anything. if you put this big of tires on a factory Toyota you would spend a couple thousand to regear the axles. while with the v8, the stock gears in these factory axles would be exactly what you would change Chevy axles gears to for driveability. they make a kit for this l, I have it. there is an adapter to go from the 350 automatic to the Toyota transfer case. so all you are changing is the motor, transmission, radiator, exhaust , and a few small things, the rest is Toyota

@@SubePelayo928 it's gear drive. It's fine. If you were to rock crawl alot it may be a different story. I have a couple. 1 is v8 to 350 turbo automatic advance adapters into toyota case. It's been good so far. The other is factory 4 cyl , 5 speed , into t case , marlin doubler, t case then its held up by a bud built skidplate. Both have been good. You can put a chrome moly main shaft in them if needed but I haven't had a problem yet.
