bittersweet day..was a Blues Fan....lost this game...then later that night went to the infamous XTC, Magazine & Flowers gig at Festival Hall was a brilliant show.....Richmond were far and away the better team in 1980...Kevin Bartlett was stunning...thanks Yellow & Black for the great replay...

That was a insanely talented Richmond team. Peaked in the finals. 21 goals to Bartlett in 3 games.

In the Carlton match, Peter Francis for the Blues (no 47) had a shocker, made an error every time he was near the footy.

Was bartlett 350 th game against sth. Melb round 12 1981 at Waverly the same day francis bourke 300th as well when bartlett went mad in the last qtr kicked 4goals in the last qtr to overcome a 22 points deficit early in the last qtr to win by 15points 19.12.126 to south 16.15 111 felt for tilt Carter in the back line played well all day till they switched roach for Jess inthe forward line Jess kicked 3 in the last qtr as well south should have won

Hard to believe they'd have to wait another 37 years to win another flag when they had a side like this. How the wheels fell off so quickly. Should never have sacked the coach 12 months later.
