This is a posh 90's lift not 80's, Castle Mall was built in 1993.

Nope in the next shaft, it's still original and at the other car parks, you're right, there are new Ecodiscs.

***** OK. Why the 1992 Kone M-Series lifts are replacing after 21 year with Monospace. Scenic lifts were 1992 Kone M-Series with very loud door motor which was horribly modernised after 20 years by generic Thyssenkrupp. Thyssenkrupp needs to stop modernising with generics and start modernising with Synergy's. Synergy's are much better than generics. Thyssenkrupp uses their own fixtures for the new installations, the fixtures are STEPMODUL. STEPMODUL fixtures are very well made, pressing quality is awesome, you can look on Elevatorpedia. Red version of STEPMODUL are ultra nice and modern, has a very nice floor indicator font and a awesome transparent arrow. There are older STEPMODUL fixtures. Blue version of STEPMODUL are ultra nice and modern too, has a LCD digital floor indicator (which resembles to Otis 2000 LCD floor indicators) with the line shaped arrow. There are newer STEPMODUL fixtures. Red version of STEPMODUL are older. Blue version of STEPMODUL are newer.

They're not STEP. The ones made by STEP have illuminating numbers, the thyssenkrupp ones don't. Often STEP distribute fixtures made by other companies (for example they distribute Dewhurst to that part of the world, but they don't make it).
