What a great statistic! Jay Robinson was the only other PBA player besides Earl Anthony to earn $30,000 on tour from 1973 thru 1980. I've long believed he was one of the truly unheralded players of his era, but this quirky stat shows just how truly consistent he was.

Yeah, and he *never* finished in the top 9 during that 8 year period. Twice he finished 10th.

Does anyone know what ball Wayne Webb was using? Steve Martin was using a Brunswick Mark X, a polyester/plastic ball...it's amazing how he gets that to move and carry. Steve Cook won the '81 Firestone w/ the same ball.

What a great last match between Webb and Martin. Wayne Webb is an all-time great. Steve Martin was always tough to bowl against. Thanks for the video.

Was the Angle REALLY the first ever urethane ball?? I thought it was the Black Hammer.
@irishpogi10 жыл бұрын
The AMF Angle was the first ever urethane ball. The black Hammer came out two years later [1982].
@vanni928310 жыл бұрын
I read one of Bill Spigner's Bowling Digest articles which said that the Faball Hammer was the first urethane ball on the market. I'll look it up. : /

John McDevitt The Black Hammer was the first urethane ball that had a two piece weight block. The other balls that were available at the time had pancake weight blocks in them.
