41 years ago and I remember as a teenager that Friday night like if it were yesterday. One of the greatest moments in expos history. After this game lasorda made a comment that it takes three games to win a five game series. Unfortunately the expos couldn’t get that third game win.

I don't care about no 1994 season - this was as good as it ever got for my beloved Expos. This was their high-water mark. It never got better than this. True, longtime Expos fans should understand that. Thank you Jerry White for this unforgettable moment.

@@MWofOHIO The Blue Jays had already won back-to-back WS championships, if it hadn't been for the strike in '94 the Expos possibly could've made it THREE STRAIGHT WS titles in Canada... :-o

1994, they could have made it. Or, at least face Cincinnati in the NLCS and go to Game 7.

that was it right there. that was the biggest moment in expos 35 yr history. I'll never forget this moment. .15 yrs old watching with my dad and when that HR was hit, i screamed and cried. Now just 1 win away from facing the NYY and Reggie Jackson in the WS. it was a dream come true. who was to say that was it. we'd NEVER again come close. this was it. SAD

In my opinion being ten years of age and even with the strike the 1981 season was the best baseball season in my lifetime. My Yankees and 2nd favorite team the Expos lost out to the Dodgers but still a great season. I rarely watch baseball even more.

I am a Cubs Fan, but the Expos were probably my second favorite team as a kid. I loved the hat. I would play fast pitch against my garage and pretend I was Gary Carter when I was hitting or Steve Rogers when I was pitching. Good stuff and btw I loved Yupie the mascot of the Expos.

I would love to see baseball back in Montreal with a real modern downtown ballpark and stable ownership that is willing to invest in the team and a supportive Provincial government. If they had those things and even a halfway decent team, they would average 20-30K per home game easily. The Expos never had any of those things.

Aren't there any rich guys or investment groups in Montreal that would love to see baseball return and make a few bucks? If someone could strike a deal for a new ballpark the Tampa Bay Rays could probably be purchased for a relative bargain. They could play in Olympic for a year or two while the new park is under construction. The American League East would be a perfect fit for the new Expos. On summer weekends, on top of Montreal fans, a nice new ballpark would probably draw a few thousand visiting fans from Toronto, New York or Boston.
