I've definitely seen longer bs videos than this. He did exactly what he said in the title; Installing window guides. But if you need help putting the window back in, it's fairly simple! Slide it in somewhat tilted so the front bit (The side with the curve to fit the door) is more curved downward in order to slide it in. Once in the channel, simply rotate into position and the clips will clip in. They're designed to go one way - In, not out. If you need further help, I'd be more than happy to draw a diagram to further explain what I mean. Hopfully this helps if you haven't installed it already!

Thanks, this video helped clear up my confusion on how to use this dorman clip from autozone. Somehow mine fell off and I’ve had to keep my window rolled up or else it would come off the track. Quick tip for anyone, I did have to sand down the edges to make it fit for my car.

The pain of that installation was enough for me to subscribe and give you a thumbs up. I had done it in the Blazer door not knowing that there are 2 guide clips opposite each other. I did take the glass out the driver's side, but if there was a hole, I was oblivious. I really need to replace the channel. I will check and see if you did that video and gave the source, also I will check the comments below mine to see if it is there. I didn't see the info in the show more section.

I just did this job on my 91 s10. I ordered the suggested clips and it worked fine. I was able to do it by hand with the window already in the door. Tip. The side with the peg goes on the inside of the window. Push that side through the window hole first. I was able to then snap the other side in with my fingers. Hope this helps.

Thank you for this guide with the window guides, haha. Both my windows guides broke/rotted away and need replaced but I had no idea how the new ones went on (No instructions with the parts, unfortunately) and the clamp idea is great! Unfortunately, there will be no "pleasure" for me since I'm too weak to clip them by hand

Thanks for the seller info. Kinda wish you had included reassemble. That's ok though . Kinda hope I can do it by hand. At my age a good BJ has been few ,and far between. LOL . Take care!

Very nice tips... I have a question after you put those little things on the glass how did you install the window back on the door?. I mean because the reels ? From the frame window.. gracias
@larryhojer469 Жыл бұрын
Just did this on my 90 S15. The clamp is the only way to go to get it done right and not screw up the clip. However, the real secret is to heat them up with a heat gun or hot water until they become pliable and then put them in place and clamp them.
@Core297 Жыл бұрын
I feel letting them sit in hot water for a while would be safest, because it can be easy to overdo it with a heat gun, or at least some models of heat gun, and melt the plastic

Do you have a video on how to take out a power window off a 92 S10 ex???
@paulk53113 жыл бұрын
i have bought quite a few of these over the years and find some are easy to install and some just do not want to work. the peg and hole that snaps together is usually the problem in my experience. some i have had would not fasten no matter how much i tried. it was like they were just too narrow for the glass. i also found a set of channel lock type pliers works well in place of the c clamp you used. if it snaps together right away then good but if it does not seem to want to snap together then you may have gotten a bad one. i have had a couple that just would not snap together and one i wound up gluing to the glass with goop. it lasted several months but then gave way. the new one i replaced it with went right together no problem. go figure.

@@shaun4bigblocksllc that's a lot of explaining pal and I respect your answer. I don't know m(any) people who pull the panels off to lubricate anything, but I'll take the advice. Also I've replace the weather stripping and clips (correctly) although I may need to swap the mechanical process out next since I'm still having issues with the window popping out. Haven't really had the pleasure of using these new clips for years yet but I'll work on it lol the old white clips definitely put my friends and I through the ringer with our 86 and 84 s10 trucks

Would those clamps be the reason why my window always falls forward when I tried to roll up or down?
@pyronuggets3 жыл бұрын
@@chadjay828 I've recently replaced my clips and I'm now having the same issue you are. I believe it's the other hardware inside the door that holds the window in place.
@pyronuggets3 жыл бұрын
@@chadjay828 I've replaced the weather stripping and clips already leaving only the roller and mount. I believe the roller and mounting bracket might not be aligned properly after the new parts were installed so I may as well replace them too since they are old and worn down
