I met Ron Waples at POC a few years ago, couldn't have been nicer.

@@horseracingfans10 , Big M (of course) had to be, they knocked down the driving range to build it and use to go to the old drive in also, I was a regular every weekend as my Godfather would give me his bets and passes to go, favorite horse was Chucky and all the greats came there !

I loved Roosevelt raceway. That was my favorite especially since I lived on Long Island but meadowlands was a close second, I was there as a youngster As my father was into the trotters.. I couldn't believe all the great horses that were coming in from other tracks all over the united states.. I remember we hit big on "Shadyside Mike" who at his home track was unbeatable, but was a longshot in one of the higher conditioners

I was weaned at the Meadowlands, especially at the harness meet. I was there the 3rd day ever of racing, 9/3/76.

Meadowlands is my favorite always has been, back in the day but now don't really have a favorite. Racing cards were great and drivers back in the day at Meadowlands .

So was my Dad. He got crushed there but did well on half-mile tracks.

I thought that voice sounded familiar! Truth be told I’ve never heard him call a harness race, just the flat races (at all the NYRA tracks)
